Minor Changes Make a Difference

The fit feels great so far and the minor changes are making a difference.  No discomfort and even a little more comfort, especially in my upper body when I am riding.  I am still working on keeping the back straight, and feel better in general when I do.  I have already passed your name on to a few people, and will continue to do so.  Your great service and knowledge are worth the ride to me, so you will see me again when I need anything.  Thanks again from a fan in CT.

-Rick, CT

Going the Distance

The RBC Gran fondo went very well.  My personal goal was under 4 hours.  I did it in 3:44:52.  From Vancouver to Whistler.  Distance 122 kilometers (75 miles). Climbing 2400 meters (7870 feet).  I can say positioning has been well tested and is top notch.  No post event pain and no pain the day after. Again, thanks a lot.

-Jean-Francois, Canada

100% Better

I rode Saturday after the fit and last night, both around 20 mile rides. I feel 100% better on the bike, I cannot thank you enough. You will certainly be getting my business for parts/accessories/tune-ups from now on too. The fitting was very impressive and like I said it has already made a world of difference just on the two quick rides I’ve done.

-Chris, VT

Darn Near Perfect

You guys set up my bike for me back in June.  I traveled to Colorado and was able to ride quite a bit.  The fit was darn near perfect!  I was able to ride centuries and long days with no real discomfort for the most part.  It was very enjoyable to be able to log long miles with challenging climbs and of course great scenery… One huge new bonus is zero numbness from the saddle.  It’s funny how it is hard to notice when something goes away.  I realized after 5 rides that numbness is not an issue and before it was.  Really great fit.

-Joel, MA

Less Foot Fatigue

The adjustments you made feel great. I did ride in the Pan Mass Challenge over the weekend logging 175 miles and upon my return to Kansas City my positioning felt great.  The shoe inserts have made a great improvement in terms of foot fatigue.

-Cythia, MO

+2 MPH and Running Better

My position on the Felt is really comfortable and so far I gained a 2 mph increase in my average speed (even with being a bit out of shape). What’s more amazing to me is how much more energy I seem to have for the run after when doing a brick…  I’m very excited to see how this plays out leading up to my Tri in Oct.

I also appreciate you pointing out my pedaling inefficiency.  This is something I plan on really focusing on to prevent injuries as well as to improve endurance thru better muscle recruitment. The compact crank and rear cassette we selected for gearing are working great on our hills and I love the Mavic shoes…they are so comfortable!!

-Jeff, TX

Invaluable Technique Lessons

Although there were no adaptations you could make to my bike, the technique suggestions you gave me (feet flat while pedaling, using hamstring  muscles et al. instead of primarily quads, faster cadence) were invaluable.  They helped me enjoy the 100K Century ride on Saturday.  Thanks for your follow up.

-Linda, VT

Putting It All Together

I can’t tell you what a difference the changes you made to my bike did! I took a thirty mile ride on Saturday, and I was so comfortable; my average speed was a full mile per hour faster. Who knows, maybe in the coming weeks I can actually think about pedaling in circles and keeping my knees in!

-Lorraine, NY

Big Upgrade

I just wanted to let you know that I reached 1000 miles on my new bike today. I’m having a great time with it. The bike is far superior to any other bike I have ever had. So, thanks for fixing me up with my Serotta.

-Robert, NY

Couldn’t be Happier

I couldn’t be happier with the bike; the ride is awesome and the fit is spot on.  I’m trying to not get too carried away as I get used to the bike.  I still on occasion go for the down tube shifters that I used to have, and I still shift down instead of up, or vice versa, but that’s getting better as well.  I have had quite a few people comment on the bike and how good it looks, I just say it rides better.   At any rate, my thanks to the crew up there!

-Doug, CT

Work Pays Off

I want to say that the bike that you set up for me last year has really worked well for me.  I stretched like crazy and get deep tissue massages and I had to adjust to the changes and it took a while. But now I have adjusted and I can really ride hard.  I can climb in a much higher gear and keep my cadence the same as before in my lower gear.  I have ridden many long days and usually my body feels great all day, except for just getting tired…  So thanks for really making a difference.

-Joel, VT

Revelation

My new Guru is an incredible ride and the fit a revelation, more comfortable than I thought possible.

-Brian, VT

Faster Bike Splits

Matt loves the bike (Parlee Stock TT). He has really improved on the bike portion of his tris.  Most importantly, the bike fits him perfectly and he is very comfortable while riding!

-Chris, MA

Versatile Gunnar

I couldn’t be happier with the bike (Gunnar). I raced in a local Tri with it last weekend and it was great. I averaged 19.3 MPH which was just about 1 mph faster than riding my Trek. The great thing about it was that I was able to comfortably stay in the drops for the entire bike leg. I have an Olympic distance event coming up the weekend after next and will continue to see how the bike handles. I feel like this bike will be so much more versatile for my needs. Thanks for everything!

-Tim , NY

Life Changing

I have only been out for one ride since the bike fit, but I can say with certainty that it was life changing.  I felt so much more powerful in all aspects, especially going up hills.  I feel as though my power is centered over the right area of the bike, which makes me feel like I am one with the bike.  I also did not encounter saddle discomfort or numbness (yey!) and my sit bones were not a problem either.  I did have to concentrate on keeping my elbows bent and my back in the proper position, but I am confident that both will become natural over time (as I continue to use my core more).  I also have to concentrate on my heels, but again I feel that will become natural in time…  I am so thankful that I had the bike fitting done and I am hopeful that I can get others in there to have a bike fitting as well.  Thank you so much,  Kelley , VT

Footbed Gift

I am pleased with the changes so far. I have never had someone make me a pair of footbeds that turned out as good as yours.  You definitely have the gift.  They perform very well.

-Jack, Montreal

Startling

I feel so much more power with less effort, it was startling!  I told my wife that after all these years of riding I finally now know how it is supposed to feel.  I think the shoes really make a difference too – I now push and pull on the foot without it moving side to side laterally.  My muscles today feel it in different areas…  Rested/worked today and will go out tomorrow morning before it gets too hot.  Needless to say I am very satisfied with the impact of the new position and equipment.  Thanks again.  I will certainly let you know if anything comes up and I am already working on becoming a Fit Werx referrer.

-Kurt, VT

Power Increase

Thanks for the awesome fit!  After racing on both Saturday and Sunday and riding hard at Tuesday Night Worlds tonight, I can say without a doubt that my new bike fit is perfect.  While my legs are a bit tired, my body does not feel like I have put quite a few hard miles in the saddle over the past four days.  I also have a significant difference in my seated power on the climbs. I told anyone who would listen about my experience in your shop.  Thank you.

-John, VT

Renewed Love

Thank you for the follow-up.  I have never felt more comfortable or efficient on my bike ever.  I now realize that all my previous bikes have never fit properly.  You have renewed my love for cycling.  Thank you for all you have done!  I will tell everybody I meet that they need to see you for a fit…

-Brian, NH

Huge Improvement

I feel more powerful on the Orbea already! Thank you for such a great experience. I’ve been telling all my biking buddies about your service as it’s made such a huge improvement in how I feel. I only wish I had come to you first before buying a bike. I’m sure you often hear that.  Some friends who might be calling you are…

-Marianne, VT

12% Wattage Improvement

The new bike (Serotta Classique Ti) is great.  It is so, so comfortable to ride.  We still have a lot of snow, but I have been on my trainer about 4 times a week.  I’m seeing about 12% more watts on my new bike, than on my old bike.  Thanks again,

-Seth, VT

VT or MA?

About 8 years ago I drove to Vermont from Cape Cod where upon you guided and helped me select and get fitted to a bike.  It was a great experience.  That experience brought me to your Peabody branch.  I wanted to have my cleats adjusted on two bikes, a basic procedure none the less.  The shop was active, phone ringing and everyone working, at the time of my arrival.  Marty and Dean were the individuals who worked with me.  Basically, I wanted to let you know how attentive, professional and helpful these individuals were.  I am very satisfied with the service.   The store was a pleasure to be in as well.  I found it to be clean, well organized and with a very pleasing atmosphere.  An all around great experience.  Respectfully yours,

-George, MA

Best Bike Ever

Just wanted to thank you for my new Serotta HSG.   I’ve ridden it 100 miles so far and it’s the smoothest bike I’ve ever been on including my Softride… Anyway, thanks for all your help over the years. I would not be the athlete I am now without your help.

-Robert, NY

Perfect

42 degrees, sunny, no wind, clipped in and…Perfect!  This bike is unlike anything I’ve ever ridden.   You need a testimonial – have them call me.  Thanks. Regards,

-Charlie, MA

Quality

I just wanted to thank you so much for everything you’ve done for me.  When I walked into your shop 2 years ago, I was taken aback by the quality of products you had, and then found the same quality in your service. There’s a huge difference between a ‘Cycling Shop’ and a ‘Cycling PRO Shop’, not just by what you offer, but also how you take care of your customers.  I am very impressed and grateful for what you guys did for me, starting from the bike, all the way through upgrading components, getting a power meter, and many more things to come, all backed up by your expert advice.  I always look forward to doing business with you, and will see you soon.  -Greg

Easy

We are back from our trip to Florida. The bikes worked out great. They were super easy to assemble, fit great, and worked perfectly.  We are pleased with our positions.  My lower, more aggressive positioning actually felt really good without any lower back or hamstring issues. Bonnie was very comfortable. The flat terrain made for some interesting riding. We would ride 14 miles (one way) on this one road without shifting!

Thanks for putting together such a user-friendly package that works great. We are headed down there in April and are already looking forward to more outdoor riding – even if the scenery is little more the scrub brush/trees.

-Julian & Bonnie, VT

VIP

Thanks for the great customer service the day I visited the shop last week. I was thoroughly impressed with your operation and appreciated being treated like a VIP client.

Tim, NY

No Going Back

Have been meaning to contact you.  I love this bike.  No back, knee or shoulder pain!! It’s a beautiful bike and performs extremely well.  I am very happy with my decision to get a custom made bike; well worth it.  Thanks for everything!

Lydia, NH

Right Long-Term Choice

The Gunnar/Cross hairs has proven to be really enjoyable – the fit is great and the ride quality is just fantastic.  I am enjoying mixing it up on the single speed and appreciate the effort in making this the right long-term choice for me.  Scott, VT

Felt Feel

Thus far I’ve gotten in two rides.  I rode by myself tonight for the purpose of feeling out the new Felt.   I felt great after the ride.   I’m not having to adjust myself during the ride which was something I had to do regularly on my other bike, I’m riding on the hoods (which is new for me as it was not comfortable to do that for prolonged periods before) and climbing in the saddle feels much easier – not sure what to contribute that to.  Anyway,  it seems to be right.  Thank you,

-Jill, VT

New Speed

LOVED racing on the P2!  3 min faster over the 28 mi course at Dunmore.  6th fastest bike, up from 15th last year.  2.5 min PR overall.  I was the first non-seeded athlete into T2!  Never had to leave the big ring and hit a top speed of 42.2 on a downhill while still pedaling and feeling like I could give it some more!!!  Legs felt fresh coming off the bike too!   Can’t wait to see what this bike can do over 56 miles at Timberman!

-John, VT

More

Just a quick note of thanks, and to let you know that I am enjoying the Cervelo.  I did 18 miles on Saturday and 20 on Sunday, and I was amazed at how good I felt.  I would have been tempted to do more, but figured I should try to follow your advice and ease into it.   I am looking forward to building up to longer rides, and some of my more hilly routes.  Thanks for doing such a great job during my fit session, and for advice and guidance.

-John, NY

Eriksen Delight

The new Eriksen I got through you is fabulous.  I knew as soon as I got out of my saddle and started climbing the hills past the covered bridge in Waitsfield.  The responsiveness was immediately evident.  It just felt like nothing I had ever ridden before.  Sunday was the big test with a ride up Mt. Ascutney and, without even warming up properly, I rode it over 2 minutes faster than my personal best in training — from a 38 minutes 35 seconds before versus Sunday’s climb of 36 minutes and 20 seconds.  The shifting is flawless and the bike is rock steady with zero vibrations at high speed.  Also the cornering seems much more precise.  And, I’ve never ridden titanium before but it does seem to suck up road vibrations without sacrificing any stiffness.  Oh, and, I’m very glad I went with the flat top handlebars.  They’re nice now and will be much appreciated on the long rides.  All in all, I’m really stunned what a machine this is.  Thanks for the workmanship on top of a great frame — and for guiding me to some great components choices.

-Jan, VT

Summary

* Visit was certainly worth the wait (one month).

* Existing Bike Fit - no longer have “tingling” feeling in my wrist and hands.

* New saddle & new height adjustment = very comfortable ride, effortless, great seat upgrade with a lot of room to move “up & down”.

* Custom cycling footbeds - I was interested to evaluate fit & feel to determine if I could really feel the difference. My new and extremely stiff Specialized shoes, broken-in this year, are now super comfortable. That was not the case before the new footbeds were installed. Well worth the money if foot comfort a priority!

* New Stem Length – I know this was a necessary installation for proper bike fit, but I had no idea it would make my bike much more stable when out of the saddle in a climbing position. Very “squirrely” feel with original stem, much more stability now.

* Mavic Ksyrium SL wheels & Hutchinson Fusion3 tubeless tires – Marty in MA and the Waitsfield shop said I was going to love these wheels… cannot believe the difference!

* First time out after visit, 17 miles in PBT, strong wind, average speed 18.5, (full mile per hour better than average), amazed at smooth ride with new hoops.

* (128) miles since shop visit…

Thanks,

-Mark, VT

Fantastic Recommendation

My bike is wonderful.  I actually got in 4 rides over the weekend while I was in Vermont.  I did a fair amount of climbing and I have had no problems with muscle fatigue or soreness thanks to the great fit of the bike.  It is certainly a HUGE change from my previous bike.  Thank you for all of your expertise in fitting and recommending a fantastic bike.

-Joanne, NY

Smooth and Solid Cervelo

I am happy to report that the ride of my new Cervelo RS is like butter……amazing smoooooooth and  solid, very tight handling!!!  On her maiden ride the Cervelo handled so well that after several hours I returned home with a smile on my face and thinking I could do more.  My old Trek would generally leave me fatigued and struggling to finish the same length ride.

-Houston, NJ

Like a New Sport

I did get a chance to put a few miles in on the new Serotta, and all I can say is WOW… what a difference.  It’s like a totally new sport.  The ride is so smooth, quiet and the pedals almost turn themselves…great bike and the fit is excellent.

-Peter, VT

Great Rides

The ride was great this weekend!  This morning’s valley loop was so much better than previous rides.  I kept my attention on my left leg and keeping my feet flat – I did feel more comfortable and more efficient…in other words German Flats wasn’t as horrible as usual…Thank you thank you thank you!

-Jenn, VT

The Arrow Matters

Well it’s been about one month on the new TT Cervelo and it fits, feels and rides like I never imagined!    I was a bit worried the first few weeks because of the discomfort in my neck and the difficulty getting used to being in the aero position. I talked to Steve, took his advice, was patient, and it seems to be paying off. I rode a 75 mile training ride this past weekend and averaged 23 mph the last 30 miles. When I first started riding three years ago 20 mph was a very elusive goal.   There is a saying in golf when referring to new clubs, “it’s not the arrow it’s the Indian.” Well I have put lots of time into training and now have the perfect fit. I am confident I am well on my way to the next level with my racing. Suffice to say in cycling the arrow can make a big difference in how fast the Indian can go.  Finally, after riding my Cervelo for a couple of hours a few weeks ago, I got on my Fuji road bike to do a easy ride with my teenage daughter. I am sorry to say my old favorite bike just didn’t feel the same. I was so surprised it felt so awkward? I am sure I will be seeing you guys early next year to get fitted for a Cervelo road bike. Just don’t tell my wife!  HaHa!

-Joe, NY

Like a Glove

The new cross bike is fantastic.  Finish is perfect and the fit is like a glove.  I ran it pretty hard today and it is extremely fun.  I will write Steve a separate email to thank him for the care that went into the bike build.  In short, I’m very happy with it and I wish now I had gotten you to build me a new road bike too rather than rebuild the one I had … the new bike feels so much more “on”.

-John, NY

Thrilled

I am thrilled with my new bike.  It’s all I had hoped for and more.  Beautiful, smooth, stable, responsive, comfortable (no neck and shoulder pain!), great gearing and more definitive shifting.  Thank you all for your professionalism, friendliness, and responsiveness.  I will not hesitate to recommend you to friends.

-Linda, VT

Significant Difference

I am extremely pleased with the whole process. I have a feeling I will be looking for my dream bike sooner as opposed to later, but right now I have to make this bike work for a season.  I went for a long ride on Saturday and noticed a significant difference.

-Simon, MA

Expectations Exceeded

I want to thank you for the Guru.  I have now done a couple of meaningful rides on it and it was outstandingly comfortable as well as fast. Way exceeded my expectations.  Can’t wait to race with it.

-Bob, NH

Success

I have done 2 TT’s so far this season, both of them very successful.  The fit is great!!  Thanks,

-Mary, NY

Religious Experience

The bike is unbelievable.  It is so lively and responsive, yet exceptionally stable.  It accelerates beautifully, corners smoothly and feels incredibly fast.  It handled hills effortlessly  And, best of all, it’s comfortable – ridiculously comfortable.  Comfortable beyond my wildest expectations.  And, that’s saying a lot considering that today’s ride was 92 miles.  Really, I can’t think of a single thing that I didn’t absolutely love about the bike.  Heck, it isn’t a bike, it’s a religious experience (and I’m not even religious).   All that said, I can’t thank you enough for all of your assistance with the new bike purchase.  You patiently answered my every question, and provided very thoughtful, knowledgeable guidance all throughout the decision process.  It’s been and continues to be a terrific customer experience to work with you, and I couldn’t be happier that the experience has culminated in me now owning a bike that’s a perfect fit for my needs.  Thank you!

-Kyle, MA

Going Well

I went on my first ride today.  Everything went very well – felt more comfortable in my new position – with little to no tightness in my shoulders and neck.  Again,  thanks for everything.

-Brad, NY

Love Over Time

The more I ride my new bike, the more I love it. First, the Ottrott is stunning, prettier than I imagined. But the ride quality is just superb, as is the fit. It feels like I am riding on air, no wheels beneath me. It responds instantly, and the ride is extremely smooth. My new bike is stationed next to me in the living room, I would never allow it to sleep in the garage with my other bikes, although they may be jealous.  I wanted to thank you for all the help and patience you provided during this process. Your knowledge, expertise and skill were invaluable. I have been raving about your service and expertise!  56 Glorious miles today!! Many many more to come.

-Dolly, NJ

Ten Free Watts

Since the fit, my power numbers in my training rides are up about 10w for the same perceived exertion. I confirmed this with an all-out 20 min test tonight and I equalled my best 20 minute power average from last summer. This should not happen at this period!  As you predicted, I do feel like I have more power in the upper part of the pedal stroke.   As for the cockpit it is unbelievable how comfortable it is on the hoods as opposed to my earlier position. It feels like a new bike.  The shoe inserts are fine and I do feel a real difference when climbing out of the saddle. Feet and ankles are much more stable.  Less roll.  Lastly I do not feel any pain or discomfort  anywhere.  Great job.  Thanks.

-Eric, QC

Much Better

Just took the new Serotta on a hilly ride.  It felt very stable on the descents.  I’m getting used to it quickly, somehow the combination of materials and geometry is working a lot better for me than the Specialized Roubaix that it has replaced.  The Specialized, after you all worked on it, was a pretty good bike itself.  But I think this bike will add several years to my active cycling—it’s wonderful!

-Charlie, MA

First Tri Success

Thanks for the fit work you did. I really enjoyed meeting you and appreciate the result of your changes. I’ve been on 4 rides since we met, including my first triathlon at Hyannis Saturday. They included both transitions in the bike time, but I turned my computer on as I started to ride and averaged 23.5 mph for a little over 10 miles of rolling hills and flats. The best news is that I’ve been comfortable on each of the rides and I ran well off the bike in the race. Thanks again and hope to see you at Tupper.

-Ed, NY

Fit and Technique

This past weekend we went back to Camden , which is very hilly. I did 23.3mph which is almost 0.3mph faster than I did on a much easier course in Bethel . I’ve been working real hard on my pedaling technique per my Spin Scan results, and I think its really helping me a lot. I’m still developing the new muscles effected by the changes but think it gets better every week. I expect the season’s results to continue to improve as my strength builds. Your help is really paying dividends. I’m really happy I made that call back in February! Best wishes.

-Jim, ME

Extra 1/2 MPH

Its been about a week since we were together. The fit has resulted in the following; No back pain at ALL. Even during my long bikes which has allowed me to negative split them for the first time. Speed on the long bikes went up by over .5 mph. Thanks…I think the only other way to get that much improvement is to lose 10 lbs. around my waist…

-Hugh , NY

Comfort

I was able to get out and ride yesterday. I did my Stowe/Barrows Road loop which is about 18 miles. I could tell the difference. I was much more comfortable on the bike and my left knee did not bother the way it sometimes does. Thanks again.

-Steve, VT

Best Bike Split Ever

I just had my first race on my new Guru and it was great. I had the best bike split I have ever had for this particular race and still had fresh enough legs to throw down a solid run time. I took a second in my age bracket. In fact, I flew past some people that I know generally leave me in the dust. Most of all, my ride was comfortable and fun. Thanks.

-Joel, VT

Twins

The new bikes are awesome. I raced on mine a few weeks ago and Liz races this next weekend. We’ve been putting miles on ‘em and everything feels great — my new position is excellent. I can actually run off the bike!!!

-Ted, CT

Dream Gift and Fit

Just wanted to give you an update on the AWESOME new bike. I took it out for a gentle spin down to Granville back on Saturday then a longer ride down to Pittsfield and back on Monday. First impressions – the bike is F-A-S-T. It feels great in the aero bars and extremely comfortable on 40mph descents – no wobbles or anything. The Zipp wheels and the Elite frame made for a smooth ride even on the cracked pavement of route 100. The shifting is incredibly smooth and precise and has a nice positive sounding click and no slippage. I also love the convenience of the bar end shifters and the NeverReach hydration system. Now I can’t wait to race the thing on June 28th!

More importantly I wanted to thank you both for your unmatched level of professionalism and expertise and absolute attention to detail. From the initial visit last year, through my full fit in February and delivery of the bike this weekend I have only become more and more impressed with the services you offer. Thanks for facilitating the dream gift! I will keep you posted on how I get on in my upcoming races…. Thanks again..

-Paul, NYC

Love

I absolutely love the bike!!! What a huge difference from my old bike! I am so grateful to you for your help. The service that you provided was top notch and I would urge anyone who is thinking of buying a bike to go to Fit Werx. Thanks again!

-Liz , MA

Speed

I had my first outing this Spring on my new bike. The new one is much better than the old one. It is very light, and I don’t feel that teeth rattling jar when I go over small sharp bumps.

But the best thing is the speed.  We went over one of our usual rides which is a 25 mile loop of flats and small rollers.  My average speed at the end was  14.6 mph…an increase of 0.7 mph average was really something.  I also felt better at the end of the ride.

-Chuck, MD

Great Package

I have been able to ride the Guru several times outside. It fits me very well and I like the handling. Even though some of the tubes are oversized it seems to handle road vibrations and bumps much better than my old road bike. Thanks again for putting together a great package.

-George, NY

Outstanding Customer Service

Your customer service is outstanding and I appreciate the time and effort spent on putting my bike together so quickly.

-Cathy, NY

Exceptional

I just wanted to thank you for such a wonderful bike fitting and buying experience.
The entire process from the fitting to the delivery has been exceptional.
The level of customer service that you guys provide should be used as a model for others to follow.

I was able to take out my new Serotta today for a 40 mile ride and put it through its paces. It was unbelievable.  It handles so well and felt so natural it seems as if I have been riding it forever.
It is so true what you advertise on your website, “We don’t fit riders to bikes, we fit bikes to riders”

I am looking forward to many years of enjoyable riding!

-Gene, NH

Short & Sweet

WOW!

-Ron, NH

Out of my mind happy

Everything you promised me about the Crono is true.  I’ve been on it a lot and I am out of my mind happy.  Thank you for working with me!

-Mark, NH

Positive Experience

I found the experience at your store to be very positive.  I appreciate the attention to detail, the knowledge, and most of all the patience.   I have started to work on the pointers that were provided on my form.  I have been on my “up-graded” bike after my fitting and have found it to be much more comfortable.

-Glenda, NH

Outstanding Customer Service

Thanks to all of you for the outstanding customer service yesterday. I love my new bicycle and anticipate putting many, many miles on it!

-Cathy, NY

Fantastic

Thanks for the follow up. As I am sure you hear from many customers, everything about the experience from fitting to purchase to picking it up was fantastic!   All of the staff was knowledgeable, kind and attentive.  Please extend my thanks to all of them. Consider me on the list of return customers.

-Mary-Beth, VT

Outstanding Customer Service

I wanted to thank you and your staff for the outstanding customer service.
My frame needed to go back for a warranty repair and since I do not live near your shop you guys set it up so that my home town mechanic could send it in.  Not only did you facilitate this, but the mechanic told me you monitored the entire process and kept him up to date on the progress.  I really appreciate this and makes me even more comfortable about buying my bikes from Fit Werx even though I live in Florida.

-Steve, FL

Knowledgeable and Thoughtful

As a Family Physician, I have appreciation for the anatomy issues and the range of motion issues. I have develped some knowledge base about sports injuries in cycling and endurance training issues.  I wanted to tell you that I really thought my session with Steve was very worthwhile. He seemed very knowledgable and thoughtful about the process and the changes he made.

I’ve had 2 previous formal fittings and I thought that Steve’s approach was much more thoughtful and addressed the interaction of the bike with your body.  He was also mindful of the type of riding I usually do.  Several of my patients are riders and I certainly will make the referral. -Chuck, MD

Great Experience

This has been a great experience.  I had a wonderful day on Saturday!  I have a great reason to ride at the track this winter in preparation for spring and the new bike.  You have been extremely helpful .  Thanks for everything.   Paul, Ontario

Thanks so much for helping me out here…and FOR MY GREAT BIKE!   I have to tell you that it was wonderful working with you guys.  The staff was helpful, thoughtful, enthusiastic, professional, competent, and fun to work with!  I would recommend working with you to anyone and everyone!

-Kari, VT

My First Century Ride

I just wanted to let you know that my GURU carried me safely and comfortably through my first Century ride! It was in middle Georgia, so the hills were all flat and long and I could get into a good riding rhythm which is never happening around Athens. Thanks for everything you have done for me.

-Heide, GA

Comfortable and Confident

I feel so comfortable and confident on the new bike ,the fit does make a HUGE difference.   The bike is truly agile and, of course, a fun ride. I cant wait to compete. She turned out so pretty toooo…..You did a great job!

-Deb, MA

Back Riding After Achilles Injury

I would like to do is thank you for all the time you have spent with me in regards to my achilles tendon injury. After two summers of no riding, I am back! I think the Speed Play pedals were a good move.   It has now been 14 months since my surgery and it has passed the test.  So………thanks so much for your expertise, for the fit, the nice ride and the extra care.

-Bill, VT

Noticed the Difference Immediately

The trip to VT was definitely worth it, for many reasons. One, I really love VT, and travel a long distance each summer to cycle the Green Mountains.  2nd, I am VERY pleased with my fit on both bikes. After arriving home on Sat afternoon, I quickly changed and went for a ride. I noticed the difference immediately, it was amazing, so comfy.  46 miles before the sun set!  On Sunday I rode the Bianchi for 70 miles (So. NJ is flat but windy). The ride was equally as comfortable. When I rode my fixed gear to work on Monday, I realized how inadequate the set-up and given the information, I will get some new bars, stem, and adjust the seat height.

I have recommended a Fit Werx ‘fit’ to many of my cycling friends, and hope that a few will venture to VT or Mass.

The Best Bike Fit Is Worth Its Weight In Gold!

I just thought i’d drop you a quick line to let you know about the pain free day I had riding my Cervelo from you in our 220k’s in the annual “Around The Bay In A Day” event. It was a last minute decision prompted by a friend of mine who revels in the challenge of doing a major event with minimal training!   I did the event without incident apart from some cramping – no back ache or significant soreness which in the past would have been the norm.   I have not been on the bike for literally months and am delighted that I finished so well. I even ended up doing a hilly 80k ride two days later with the same result. The proper (best!) bike fit is worth its weight in gold! Cheers.

Comfortable Throughout

I just wanted to write to thank you for your help with my touring bike last spring.  The bike was comfortable throughout – I didn’t have any hand, neck, or knee problems at all.  I heard about all sorts of issues from other cyclists; numb hands to angry knees and seemingly everything in between…  I had my wheels trued once in the middle, and had them trued again just last week.  New cables and pads after the trip as well.  Otherwise, no mechanical issues at all.  I saw plenty of others wrestling with bike trouble, fortunately none of which I had to deal with. Thanks again.

-Andrew, VT

Very Professional, Complete Bike Care

Things are excellent!  The  bike is awesome and the wheels, although a bit scary in the wind/getting passed by cement trucks are nice!  I just finished checking all the nuts and bolts.  Sound.   Deb loves her wheels.  Adds a bit of speed to our rides…  Your skill and knowledge is greatly appreciated.  Very professional, complete bike care.  Sarah, so organized and helpful.   Visiting you in Waitsfield has been worthwhile.  Thank you very much.

-Jeff, MA

The Bike Rides Beautifully!

I have been out for a number of 1-2 Hr rides. The bike rides beautifully! I have felt relaxed and well supported. The seat and position seems perfect! I’m still getting used to SRAM but I love the positive shift feel.  I’ll keep in touch but so far I could not be more pleased!

-Peter, VT

Best Bike Split Ever

I had my best bike split ever yesterday at Mooseman!  The bike felt great. I need to learn
to be more aggressive now that I trust it.  Just thought I’d share the news!

-Lynn, MA

Felt Like I Had Fresh Legs

We did 41 miles of relatively flat riding and I can’t tell you how excited I was.  I was able to ride between 22 and 26 mph on the flats without feeling like I was working hard and at the end of the ride I felt like I had relatively fresh legs.  I was amazed at how my new position helped me ride more efficiently.  I am really looking forward to the bike leg at the first VT Sun Sprint!   …Thanks again!  I will recommend you and your services to anyone, whether they want to listen or not!

-John, VT

Nothing Less Than Perfect

I’ve ridden just shy of 140 miles on the bike (Guru Evolo) since I got it and everything has been nothing less than perfect. The bike fits naturally and I haven’t had to make any adjustments whatsoever.  It responds so well that sometimes I think it anticipates what I’m about to do! :-)   It’s been nothing short of pure joy to ride.

-Mark, VT

Fast and Easy to Ride

My initial anxiety about buying too much bike is gone now.  I can’t believe how fast and easy this bike (Cervelo P2) is to ride.  When I’m done with a ride, I wish there was more.  I’ve never felt that before.  I’m very happy with the purchase and thank you very much for your help.  -Randy, NY

Love my Bike and Fit

I love my bike and its fit. Climbing and riding is wonderfully better! Thanks for all your help.

-Beth, NH

Pain and Soreness Gone

I have great news.  The pain/soreness in my right leg (#3 below) is completely gone.  When I updated you last it was still there, but the pain was changing, which means we were on the right track.  I think that I was constantly stretching it too far; since with the 3mm shim you added it went away.  I can’t tell you how nice it is to return from a ride and be able to walk up the stairs without the pain/soreness.  I have also found the TP Therapy tool very useful -it sure can bring the pain out-but feels so good afterwards!  Again thanks for everything-i’m really amazed how you fixed everything so quickly.  Best Regards.

-Bruce, MA

Noticeable Efficiency Gain

The fit was great – my first ride this morning since Saturday’s fitting was a noticeable difference.  I took it easy as suggested and still cut over a minute and a half off my 14 mile time – with less effort, so noticeable efficiency gain. There is also less pressure on my bad hamstring and very noticeable less numbness in my hands – so all in all outstanding.  Pass my thanks along to Sarah as well for tuning the bike up – being such a great host by providing coffee.  I look forward to stopping by again in the future for reassessments and gear.  You guys rock!

-Terry, NH

There is No Comparison

Wow, my new road bike is awesome.  It feels so smooth, fast and comfortable.  I have some learning to do, like balancing in the aero bars, but it is going to be fun spending some quality time on this bike.  I cannot believe the difference between this and my other bike (which I thought was pretty nice) on the road, there is no comparison.  I can see enjoying this for a very long time.  I can’t wait until my next ride.  Thanks again for all your help.

-Scott, VT

Felt Great The Whole Way

Just wanted to thank you again for a great fit!  I just did my first century today and felt great the whole way.

-Dan, NY

Detail and Customer Service Approach

I was extremely impressed with your entire operation. Your attention to detail and customer-focused approach is something I have not seen in any business in many, many years.  It’s no wonder that you have a sterling reputation and that people travel many miles and hours to visit you and your shop.

-Tony, NYC

I Am Loving This Bike

I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say how much I am loving this bike.  I was supposed (!) to commute on it this winter, but I couldn’t bring myself to take it out in the salt, pretty and new as it was.  I’m over it, and it’s getting a lot of love.  The cross tires have made it nearly unstoppable.  Here’s a picture of a dirty, but still beautiful bike, parked illegally (with a Fit Werx bottle, natch).  Thank you so much!

-Erin, VT

Experienced Professionals

It is a pleasure doing business with Fit Werx. You are all experienced professionals.

It Just Fits Right

I wanted to let you know that my IF Ti CJ is amazing. Been out a bunch of times already this spring and feel great on the bike. It just ‘fits’ right, and my body knows it. Thanks for your help.

-David, NH

No Soreness

After having time for only two brief rides this past weekend, up the North Road & down Joslin Hill then a brutal hill climb up Gallison Hill road in Montpelier during the kids’ soccer practice, Cindy and I were able to get out briefly last night and do the East Warren loop. I am amazed how comfortable the bike is and how well it fits, I wouldn’t change a thing.

As I was telling Brandon last week, I was really nervous about the first rides after having back, shoulder and arm pain for the past six months I was really wondering if my riding days were over.  Today I feel great, I don’t even have a sore ass!  Thanks for getting me on two wheels again, I’m really looking forward to a great cycling season.

-Brian, VT

“Customer for Life” Approach

I can’t thank the Fit Werx team enough for their consistent, patient, and customer focused attitude in delivering a bike that has exceeded my expectations. You guys are probably one of the few, if not the only, cycling/triathlon shop that I have had the pleasure to deal with that practically demonstrates a “customer for life” approach.  Shops that purport to offer the same products and service in Australia could certainly take a “leaf out of your book”.

I constantly relate to my colleagues, the response times to my queries and the detailed ergonomic fit process (even on-line!) that Fit Werx employs and the importance of their attention to detail.   Hindsight being a wonderful thing, it would have been great if I had discovered Fit Werx earlier as this would have alleviated an ill fitting, twitchy Madone that has been the legacy of a fit that was based on some “rule of thumb”, subjective assessment performed by a poorly qualified bike shop owner.  Purchasing the P3 (about 2 years ago) and now the RS from Fit Werx has been an excellent investment as both bikes now have the same set up in a different guise which means that the same  muscle groups can be deployed and my lower back can finally have some respite!

…after returning home from the first ride I was delighted with how fresh I felt – not bad considering we are going through the hottest 3 successive days in recorded history.  The lower back felt 100% better as did the legs. So a terrific first impression.

Cheers and thanks.

-Olivier, Australia

Great Improvement

…have done a couple of sessions on the wind trainer and I can definitely feel a difference, in both the legs and the comfort zones.  Great improvement in the seat…  Will keep you informed once I make it out on the road.  Must say that I had heard a lot about you folks and it was all true and then some… you do a great job there and the shop is as impressive as the service.  Will be in touch.

-Peter, VT

Appreciate Your Technical Support

It’s rare I find myself writing a letter of thanks.  But in this case I wanted to send a note of appreciation for your technical support. You all have made yet another convert to your shop.  I want to thank you for your expertise and attention to detail in all aspects of my bike fit.  After several years and a number of attempts to seek help with improper bike fit you all were able to lend support where there seems to be very little, at least in my geographical area.

Asking for help and developing relationships with perceived experts can be hugely intimidating.  One does not always understand the problems they face so asking the right questions becomes a bit scary. Your process removes these issues and concerns.  Building the fit from the bottom up I was able to relax and see where I was going wrong.  The accessibility of your shop, knowledge and website was a much appreciated and enjoyable experience!  Best Regards.

-Houston, NY

More Ability, Confidence, Intuition, and Fun

I have shared with some of you the happiness I have with my new Kharma. As you know, my previous ride is an older Raleigh mountain bike. I have used this bike for both off-road and road riding, putting on road tires when needed. I even did the App. Gap hill climb in early October with it! Not for lack of trying, I was last up the hill. What was it about the other bikes that was so much an improvement on mine? I could have guessed, but I stopped in your shop on my home after the climb to confirm my speculating.

Sarah will tell you; I was blown away by your shop, so much so that she had to slow me down on my way out. I was almost literally in shock as I had never seen anything like it. As a kid who dreamt of just seeing pro cycling, and as an adult who can, bikes are pretty deep in me. I never dreamed, however, that I could ever possess a bike like my Kharma.

As you may recall, my first ride or two, were awkward. This 21st century bike was a very distant relative to what I have known. As I have been out on it a number of times now, I learn more about the bike, and my ability on it, with each ride. Each ride has given me more  ability, confidence, intuition, and fun. You have lots of bikes in your shop, and more available to you, but I could not be happier with my choice. I get more excited about riding it each time I have the chance. The Kharma is as responsive and comfortable as I could want.

As I have been in customer service-related occupations for most of my working life, I also could not be more impressed with you service. It was Sarah who “talked me off the ledge” and got me to seriously consider a purchase with you. She very astutely and professionally walked me through the whole process, from intro to out-the-door. With Ian and Brandon, too, I have felt throughout that I was being seriously considered, listened to, and accommodated. You are one of the few retail venues that I have ever been in where I simply get what I am in need of, e.g., if I have a mechanical issue, it is taken care of immediately.

Thank you all so much for being so good at what you do. I am lucky to have you here.

-Matt, VT

Great Customer Service

…As a retail consultant who travels the country I see businesses of all shapes and sizes that cover numerous industries.  Many of them could take a lesson from you on customer service.  The entire process flow was smooth, comfortable and instilled tremendous confidence.  You never once made mention of my dated equipment (as so many other shops look down their noses) and focused on me, the rider.  Your grasp of the human body and all its linkages was tremendous.

After years of failed attempts to dial in my position at bike shops as well as concerns about my leg length discrepancy I was beginning to doubt anyone could help me. I am now looking ahead to next season with renewed anticipation and excitement. Thanks for everything.

-Todd, NY

Utmost In Customer Appreciation And Loyalty

Once again, it was great to see you all.  I want to thank you for the upgrades you made to my bike yesterday. The campy crank is a dream!! …You have the utmost in customer appreciation and loyalty from me. You have never steered me wrong, never tried to sell me something I did not need and have been very knowledgeable and helpful in helping me analyze and select the right upgrades for the money I have to spend.

-Jeff, NH

New Tri Position Feels Right

I want to thank you again for all of the time, thought, and effort that you put in building my new road bike and improving my tri bike.  You really influenced me to make the right decisions.  I have really enjoyed riding my road bike – it’s such a nice change from always being in my tri position…my new tri position feels right and now the body just has to get used to it.   Thank you again for all that you do!

-Kate, NH.  Coach.

The First To Put Tech, Art, and Goals Together

You are the first…that actually seems to put it all together, the technology, the art, and the goals of the athlete.  Most places just sell, you tailor.

From Skeptic to Faithful Customer

Next time you have a skeptical customer,  feel free to mention that there was this guy who sat on the fence for nearly 2 years.  When he finally decided to put faith into his bike fitter, he could have never been more  pleased with the recommendations.
You said it would handle better, it does.
You said it would hold its speed better, it does.
You said it would be more comfortable, it is.
You said it would have better power transfer, it does.
What you didn’t say was that it absorbs the road vibration better than a seat tubeless Kestrel KM40.
In summary, if you ever have someone who is having a difficult time deciding what to do, give them my number/email.  I will tell them that I had to have been the most skeptical customer you have ever had, but in the end, faith in your fitter is why we came to you in the first place.

Best Triathlon Season Ever

I just wanted to take a moment to thank each of you for the help and support you provided to me this year. The 2008 triathlon season was my best ever and you were an important part of that success…  In several races, including Lobsterman, my best event ranking occurred on the bike, which is a new accomplishment and which I could not have done without Fit Werx.  Thank you again for all your help, advice, and support.

-Marc, VT

Finished My First Ironman

I’m sure these finisher stories are a dime a dozen for you guys, but I thought I would send you a note and let you know I managed to finish my first Ironman in Lake Placid this past July. I did it on the bike you guys help me set up.  It was a dream to train on, and treated me great throughout the race, despite the never-ending rain!  I was the last official finisher!  However, it’s not that bad when you consider I was in the hospital for nearly 2 months straight getting chemotherapy treatments a little more than a year ago.  You guys were a giant reason for getting me to the line, and I just wanted to say thanks!

-Jeff, CA

What a Difference a Fitting Made!!!

I wanted to wait until I had some triathlon races under my belt before I emailed you an update on the fitting you provided me.   I think the following results speak for themselves: Last year, I competed in two sprint triathlons with my “old” bike set-up and averaged an 18 mph pace. This year I have competed in 3 sprint tris so far with my “Fit Werx fitted” bike–I averaged 19.4 mph, 19.0 mph and my last race was clocked at an average of 21.3 mph!!!! What a difference the fitting has made!!!! I feel more comfortable and powerful on my bike now.   My last race, I rode the 17 miles 90% in the aerobars.  Thank you again for all of your help and expertise. I look forward to working with you in the near future,

-Jennifer, MA

Small Adjustments…Profound Effects

The small adjustments you to the bike had a profound effect.  Since my torso/legs angle was opened up I have more strength at the top of the stroke, my knees don’t splay out as much because they’re not so cramped at the top of the stroke.  The hills feel better with the handle bars further out.  I do sense that the bike is a little less stable when I’m in the aero bars with the bars further in front of the head tube but that’s a small price to pay.  My back is better – I haven’t done more than 30 miles so I have to try a longer distance to really tell.  Thanks for the advice, you do good work.

-Mark, NH

The Ride Was Almost Spriritual

I have been out several times on the Ottrott and the fit and feel are great.  Without getting too lyrical about things…the ride was almost spiritual.  It is also the most attractive bike that I have ever seen.  I wanted to hang it up in the bedroom when I wasn’t riding it…

-Jeff, VT

In Elite Company

I am writing to express my absolute satisfaction with my new Serotta Mei Vici.  It was immediately apparent on the very first ride that the fit, performance and ride quality are exceptional.  Most people would think that is to be expected, so why write a letter?   As an owner of a Seven that I purchased at ———— in Belmont, MA that was never correct, I think there is much more to say.

Today I find that customer service is a lost art and true attention to detail almost unheard of.  This is not the case at Fit Werx.  In fact, your attention to details both large and small, deep expertise and sense for something that is part science and part art, place you in elite company.   It is also important to note that you recognize that, try as you might to achieve perfection in all that you do, problems and complications do arise.  It is how one deals with such things that truly sets a company apart.  Here again you really shine as you will do whatever you can to solve a problem, find information and otherwise help in any what you can.

The growth of the company is a testament to what comes to those who approach things the way you folks do.  I wish you guys all the best.   Your loyal customer and friend.

-Peter, NH.

Improvement In Cycling

This is to let you know how much improvement in my cycling is attributed to the fit done with you.   After competing in the Tour D’Lisle in Montreal I notices my average speed was up by almost 3 mph, the back and hand pains I normally experienced were gone and how comfortable and efficient I was whether in the drops or on the hoods.   You folks have made a measurable improvement in my enjoyment of the sport.  Thank you.

-Gerry, VT

Fit Werx Changed My Life

A half a day spent at Fit Werx changed my life!   This is way better than a spa day.   I’ve been biking for 25 years and recently upgraded to custom road and mountain bikes (Serotta Road, Seven Cycles Mountain), which I unfortunately did when I lived out of Vermont.   I say unfortunately because even with custom fitting elsewhere, many things were not taken into account.

The most important thing my previous fittings did not take into account is my actual riding TECHNIQUE – how I sit on a bike and pedal.    When you get fitted for a new bike, most shops will ask you how you ride, but they don’t actually WATCH you ride.   Because of this, both bikes were fitted for how I WAS riding, not how I SHOULD be riding.  At Fit Werx, that’s easy to fix – the computer analysis they use showed every possible angle of my riding by filming me first in my current set-up and then figuring out the things that I could be doing differently to get the most out of my body and be more comfortable.   It turned out I was riding WAY too far back in the saddle and then pushing on my handlebars (which even in a custom bike were the wrong size by a fair amount) too much.   I was not even close to an efficient position.   Once Ian (who is a magician) adjusted things to how they SHOULD be on the fitting bike and explained to me how to take advantage of the changes and how my body works on the bike, I was much more comfortable and, even better, I was much stronger!

Fit Werx also uses a computer to assess your pedaling economy and knee tracking.  Turned out I was a quadriceps hauler with almost NO hamstring use – after  a few minutes of patient instruction and being hooked up to the machine, it was easy to see how I should be pedaling and using all my muscle groups. Of course now that I am in a better position, it is a lot easier to use more muscles.

In short, I am relearning how to bike. Most people when they say “I learned how to bike” mean they learned how not to fall over.  But I suspect even experienced bikers often don’t take the time to make sure they are efficient bikers and comfortable bikers – biking does NOT have to cause discomfort. By the time I left, I had a perfect set up on both bikes, a new technique and a renewed enthusiasm for biking.  It was clear that I was going to be 1 – comfortable 2 – efficient 3 – a better climber, one of my weaker areas.
Even recreational bikers should spend a half day at Fit Werx to work out all the kinks.   Think of all the money you’ll save on neck/shoulder massages for soreness after biking!!
The staff could not have been more gracious or knowledgeable. I am forever grateful.

-Michele, VT

The Fit Was The Best Thing I have Ever Done For Myself

I can’t say enough how great you guys are (the fit was the best thing I ever did for myself), I am very pleased with my new Cervelo R3, over 150 miles since last wednesday when I picked the bike up.  I started out feeling a bit slower, but I am now averaging 1mph faster on established routes.

-Jeff, NH

Awesome!

Just wanted to let you know that I finally got out and did some riding last weekend.  One word describes my new ride…..AWESOME!  I’m getting used to the saddle but everything else appears to be perfect.  Just wanted to let you know how much I’m enjoying the bike.  Thanks again for your help and attention to detail.

-Chris, NH

Huge Inventory, Very Knowledgeable And Professional And Felt Like Old Friends

Thanks for the follow up. Things are great. I have noticed a huge difference in my riding. Not only am I more comfortable on the bike, which in turn allows me to up my rides, but I feel stronger on the pedals. My numbness issue is gone. It was always a real problem when riding flats. It’s great to actually sit on the saddle rather than perched on the nose of it…My knee is slowly getting better.  All I need now is to be done with classes so I can train more, that and stop eating The Alchemist’s French Fries…   We were very impressed with your store – huge inventory, very knowledgeable and professional and most of all you made us feel like old friends. We wish you weren’t so far away but we will see you again I am sure.

-Nick & Sarah, NH

Amazing Customer Service

I’ve got to tell you that I am amazed at your dedication to customer service.  I was a Customer Service Account Manager for 7 years so I like to think that I know a thing or two about the topic.  I do not consider myself to be easily impressed but you and your team have truly impressed me.

Because of your obvious appreciaton for your customers and your relentless pursuit to make sure that everything is done right, you can consider me to be a loyal customer.  I will tell everyone that will listen what a great experience I have had at Fit Werx.  I can see why people travel as far as they do to go to your store.  I’m sure glad that I decided to make the trip.

-Ed, NY

Loving It

Just wanted to drop you a line that I am loving my Parlee. LOVING IT!
It’s the smoothest ride ever, and I’m happy with what I’ve been able to do on descents. I even tried racing this weekend (Turtle Pond). It was a learning experience as I’ve only done one other road race, but I felt ready to try on my new bike.

-Ann, VT

Fast and Efficient!

Well, I finally got the new Guru outside last week.  The fit is perfect!  I felt like I’d been riding this bike my whole life.  It shifts so smoothly, took the corners like a road bike – unbelievable.  The bike is fast and efficient!!  It held up in the wind and stayed steady while I was in the aerobars.   My first 20 mile was ride quick and felt effortless.  I just can’t believe how comfortable and fun this bike is to ride!!  Thanks so much for all the help!  Going the extra distance to be fit by the experts makes all the difference in the world, if you ask me!  I love this bike!!  I’m looking forward to Lake Placid on this bike – I’ll let you know how I do!  Thanks again!!

-Valerie, NH

Fit Werx is Uncomparable

I wanted to let you know that I have been unable to find a bike shop in Colorado that is comparable to Fit Werx!!  So I have decided to move back to New England.   I have accepted a teaching position at a school in NH.  There’s a good possibility that my family and I will be living in VT for July and August so I will hopefully stop by the shop or see you all at a race some day.

-Michael, NH

Less Sciatica Pain

Thank you both very much ..i have certainly noticed a difference !!
I have done three 25 mile rides and I am feeling fine at the end and can walk the next day :)    Before my sciatica would have started bothering me at 10…and i would be hunched over and in pain for several days. In addition during my spinerval workouts i am finding i can maintain 120+ cadence and have made it as high as 145  !! Previously i could not maintain 120 for longer than 10 seconds …  So thank you Thank you ! And when i get my next bike – you will be the only place i look !

-Alicia, MA

My Time Improved

How are you there? Here I’m enjoying the guru bike very much.It was great to have it.My time improved a lot and for sure , I’m very happy with your bike fit!

The Best Shop I Have Ever Worked With

I don’t know if you looked at the clock lately, but the time (of your e-mail response) is way past the time that other bike shops close up and defer any emails to the following day.  I know I’ve said this before, but your shop is hands down the best shop I have ever worked with.

-Jeff, OH

Really Beneficial, Professional And Fun

Coach:   The whole experience was really beneficial, professional and fun. As you suggested, I am definetely taking it slowly…no hard rides yet..just time on the bike and thinking about where I am in the saddle and how I want my rotation to be smooth. I do feel the changes in my muscles…I also am already feeling a greater degree of comfort and ease in my back with this new position. After so many years riding, it is so interesting to me that I can go through this process and hopefully find some hidden speed along with easier transition to the run.
I have already answered questions with athletes whom I coach about making appointments with you or in Mass. It is really great to have you as a resource and also to be able (finally) to have an expert in the bike fitting/riding process to reccomend.   I will be in touch in the future, I am certain.

-Suzan Ballmer, Breakaway Athletic Coaching

True Professionals

Just want to say thanks to you guys for making our trip so smooth so effortless and a memorable one. You all are true professionals.
Hopefully we can make it back up there in the very near future. Maybe do some riding together.

-Johnny and Peter, Jamaica

Great Experience

I just wanted to you to know that I thought the bike fit yesterday was a great experience. Because of all the visual feedback, I was able to see for the first time my riding mechanics and associate all those “book terms” with my pedaling stroke and riding position. Thank you so much for all the information.

-Rick, VT

Quality Attention And Fit

I would definitely recommend your shop to anyone who wants to work with folks who give you quality attention (regardless of the caliber of athlete) and really know what they are doing when it comes to fit.  It was a great experience and worth the trip to Vermont (both times!).  Thanks again!

-Val, NH

Your Sizing Philosophy Is A Direct Path To Better Performance

I just wanted to write a quick note to say a very big THANK YOU!  I took the Cervelo out on the road this morning and I couldn’t believe how great the fit was, what a major difference in comfort and performance; the bike felt like it just wanted to leap off the pavement it was so fast!  Your process can’t be beat and I am going to suggest to anybody who will listen, that your sizing philosophy is a direct path to better performance.

-Chuck, MA

Fast, Smooth, Stable, Effortless

The bike (Guru Crono) is great – fast, smooth, stable, and the riding seems effortless. No issue holding the new aero position, it is comfortable during the ride and I feel extremely efficient. Brandon was great, both in the build and the pick up, please thank him for me.   It was great working with you guys and I look forward to future interactions.

-Phil, MA

Second To None

I would like to thank you again for the opportunity to be fitted.  Your facility is second to none.  I appreciate the time, energy, and feedback.  Never once did I feel rushed and all of my questions were answered as if it was the first time they had ever been asked.  I can’t say enough about you all, incredible response time, personalized attention, and awesome inventory.  These are the reasons why I choose to drive 24 hours in a 3.5 day round trip.

-Jeff, OH

I Don’t Want To Get Off My Bike

The bike (CXII Ti) has been great. I could go on about how my bike and run splits have improved, but more importantly I finally understand why people enjoy biking. With my previous bikes I always looked forward to getting to the end of a ride.  Now I don’t want to get off and have occasionally extended my training rides just because I was having too much fun to go home.

-Jesse, MA

Above And Beyond

As my first tri season has now come to an end, I wanted to send you a big “Thank You” for the time and effort you have given to me and my bike fit.  Your sincere interest in your clients is noticeable and appreciated.  I have gotten so much more comfortable on the bike and have really dialed into the fit.  Thanks for your patience in getting me to that point.  I look forward to working with Fit Werx in the future – you guys are above and beyond a bike shop and fitting service.  Ending the season on a good note, the Guru treated me well at the Longhorn Half Iron race in Austin and I finished 2nd female overall!  Thanks again for helping me get there.

-Kathleen, MA

Dramatic Improvements In Short Time

Within the first mile of yesterday’s ride I noticed my posture, power transfer and handling of the bike was much, much better… I noticed too my oxygen intake seemed less forced and more natural with the wider handlebars.   I felt great on my Merck Forest route yesterday, actually improving my overall time by an astounding 2 and a half minutes. The ride has a really good climb about five miles into the trek, up to 1700 feet for over two miles. It ranges from 4% up to 13% right at the top, and for me one of the tougher climbs this season. The ride is the same 27-mile loop that I’ve tried several times in the last month and with each pass I keep improving, but this time it was a quantum leap!  The long and the short is the bike felt great.

Thanks again for really helping me with something so important and for the obvious increased stamina and power from your very thorough fitting. In my mind it’s a no-brainer for any cyclist looking for dramatic improvements in a short amount of time.

-Robert, MA

The Ride Is Just Incredible

I just wanted to say that after a couple of rides, I absolutely love the Guru (Geneo)!  I cannot believe how different the ride is, how much more fun it makes cycling.  I always liked the Kestrel, and when I got it, I know it made me faster… but this bike is something else.  I do not have the words to exactly describe what is so different, but it is very different.  Not just the feel of the ride, as in the saddle experience, but the pedaling feels so smooth, so fluid… again, I don’t have the words, but I love it.  Of course I love the paint job too, but the ride is just incredible.  Thanks.

-Cathy, NY

Phenomenal

After staring at my new bike (Legend ST) for the past week, I was finally able to get out on it today for a 77 mile ride.  It was simply nothing less than phenomenal.  I new it was going to be a different ride but was not prepared for how much different.   It was everything I had hoped for and more.  The acceleration, handling – just pure joy.

The adjustments you made to Lauri’s bike were great as well.  She did great on the ride and really enjoyed the new position, etc.  Thanks again for a wonderful experience.

-Reid, NYC

Thorough And Educating

I wanted to thank you for your help with fitting me for a bike.  The process was incredibly thorough and I feel more educated in what I need.  I feel confident that your process works and know that the bike you designed for me would be ideal.

-Polly, NH

Rides Like A Dream

I just wanted to say how much have enjoyed my Serrotta Fierte. You people did a wonderful job of fitting me and the bike has been an absolute pleasure to ride. I took it in the Prouty Century and the Harpoon 50 mile ride and the bike performed beautifully (I wish I could say I was as good as the bike!)  The bike is so smooth and responsive and rides like a dream. Thank you again.

-Brian, NH

Great Fit

Again, I want to compliment you on a great fit. Thanks.

-Steve, VT

Others Pale In Comparison

The bike (Parlee) has exceeded all my expectations. I think what I like most is the perfect fit when I mount that black beauty.   I know that the bike shops in and around Toronto pale in comparison to the fit expertise provided by Fit Werx….  The entire Fit Werx team should be very proud of themselves!

-Eugene, Toronto, Canada

The Best Bike Shop I’ve Ever Been To

“In my cycling career I can identify landmarks which revolutionize my riding, e.g., going from wool to lycra and toe-clips to clipless pedals. Normally, this happens about once every few years, but in my three visits to Fit Werx over a two week period, I had at least five! So, getting this new bicycle (R3 SL) was a great experience, especially since I have been avoiding bike shops for a long time.  My two previous bikes and most of my components I got mail-order over the past 15 years. Definitely the best bike shop I’ve ever been to, and I was once sponsored by Wheelsmith in Palo Alto.”

-Ilan, Paris, France

Another Satisfied Client

It was a pleasure meeting you over the weekend.  I am extremely happy with the setup!  My maiden voyage on the new position was very nice…You have yet another satisfied client.  When the time comes for a new bike I’m coming up your way!

-Jason, NH

What A Difference

I asked Barb about twenty miles into the ride if she felt better.  She said, “Oh my God, I cannot believe how good this feels and how much better I am riding.”   I felt the same way.  This bike (Legend ST) is smooth and for the first time I did not feel like I wanted to get out of the aero bars.  What a difference.  Thanks so much for the advice.

-Michael and Barbara Jordan, NY.

Fantastic Bicycle

Thanks for checking in. The bike is absolutely gorgeous and is in a league of its own. I’ve had quite a few bikes over the years but they didn’t even come close to an Ottrott. Ottrott is so well fitted and put together that it feels like an extension of you and what a huge difference do the new shoes make! I’m not sure whether it was from excitement or the new bike and fit but my average speed is up by 3 mph over the same routine I used to follow. Thanks again for the great effort in helping me select and for putting together this fantastic bicycle!

-Kirill, NYC

Great Fit

Just wanted to drop a quick note to say thanks for the great fit on my new Elite that I got from you back in December.  I did IM this past Sunday up in Lake Placid and felt totally comfortable on the bike the whole time, having a great ride in the process.  Also had plenty left in the legs afterwards for a solid run.  You guys are the best!

-Brian, MA

Still Have a Smile On My Face

The bike (Crono) is great, I love it.  I still have the smile on my face from this weekend’s ride.

-Rick, MA

Won My Age Group For The First Time

Just want to drop you a line and update you on how much I am loving riding the Elite Razor I purhcased from you last summer.  I did the Musselman Half Ironman yesterday and for the first time won my age group in a major race.  The bike, and more importantly, I think, the bit fit has been a tremedous part of my improvement this year.  The bike is super comfortable (did a 155 mile ride earlier this year coming out aero position like 2 times), lets me feel powerful in the flats and even climbs really well.  Thanks again for everything.

-Jack Smith, NYC

A Magic Carpet Ride

I cannot even find words to describe riding my new bike (Guru Crono)!!! It is like having a magic carpet ride.  I think I will call it Aladin :)   I think I could ride it forever.  I was riding home from work yesterday, and I just kept having the refrain from row, row, row your boat going thru my head – “…Life is But a Dream…”  It was soooo smooth and soft, like riding a feather on a cloud…I am in love.  Thanks so much.  I really enjoyed talking with you and Brandon the other day, and my most sincere gratitude to you all for helping me find my perfect bike.

I LOVE MY NEW BIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Thanks to all of you.  The more I ride it, the more I love it.  It’s like velvet snow after a powder snow storm….yummy!

-Gretchen, NH

The Difference Between A Jeep and A Porsche

I did a 30 mile ride today and what a great ride it was!  The bike rides really well and I felt very comfortable on it.  It was like the difference between a Jeep and a Porsche, comparing the old Cannondale to the new Serotta.  Shifting was very smooth.  Thanks to you, Sarah, and Brandon for all your work.   I am extremely pleased!

-Craig, NH

Grace And Ease

We rode our Serrota’s yesterday afternoon and were once again reminded of how nice a great bike feels. We put a lot of hours on the Specialized bikes that we rented on Maui. While they got us from point a to point b,  the Serrota’s do it with such grace and ease that I hardly feel like I’m doing any work. Maybe I should keep my old specialized (aka. the Ford) around to ride once in a while when I feel the need to abuse myself!

We rode the Elites Tuesday to Granville. It was soooooo fun flying through the gulf on them. Last night we climbed West Hill on the Serrota’s. I stayed seated for the entire climb. We’re both really happy with the collection of bicycles you recommended for us.

-Melanie and Mark, Waitsfield, VT

Great Results

I want to thank you, Ian and your crew for putting together a fantastic bike for me!  I was trying
to be conservative on the bike portion of the race, and still did 19.6 mph.  That is a race PR for me and I got 3rd place F45-49 – Mooseman syrup to boot!  I know there’s still a lot of room to, but it was a pleasant surprise to see the results.

-Louise, NH

Well Worth Every $$$$

Just wanted to take a minute and let you know how much I LOVE my new bike!  I could hardly race home fast enough, eyeing the sun setting, my mom was sure I would run off the road!  Out of the car and onto the bike, I can honestly say it was the best bike ride I have ever had!  Up and down the hills, hugging the coast of Maine, my body just melted into the bike, I felt “one” with the road and suddenly biking seemed effortless…… I was literally grinning from ear to ear the entire ride – trying to make sure I didn’t swallow too many flies!  I’m in love….. it there was more room in the bed, I might sleep with my new Cervelo tonight!

I can’t express how wonderful our experience at Fit Werx² was.  You are undebatably the leading bike shop and experts around!  Your professionalism, knowledge, patience [thanks for staying open late!] and good humor made our experience unforgettable – it was well worth every $$$$!!!

-Lindsay & Dana, ME

Thrilled With My New Fit

I hope this note finds both of you well. I’m now a month on my new fit, and I’m thrilled with it. Naturally, it took some time to adapt to the raised saddle height, but I find the position strong and stable, especially on long false flats. Even more, I think that the shoe inserts have changed my cycling experience.   Thank you, again, for your kind and thorough help.

-Joe, MA

It’s All Worth It

On Friday I rode my new tri bike for the first time.  I rode the first loop of the 112 mile LPIM course on the new bike and it felt so great I did both loops on the new bike!  That’s all my coach had on the agenda for the day, but I was still feeling pretty good so I we went out for a little transition run afterwards.  I was able to do the planned 15+ mile run the next day and did another century plus on Monday (two loops of the bike course sans about 10 miles of the out and back section).  My neck and shoulder and right knee didn’t hurt when I got off the bike.  I felt great!…

I am thus far delighted w/my new bike, the shifters on the aerobars, the compact gearing, the bike shoes w/custom foot beds, the new drink system and new computer.  So far my expectations have been exceeded…it’s all worth it!!!   Thank you.

-Betty, NH

Perfect Fit…Awesome Ride

I just wanted to pass along my thanks to everyone at Fitwerx and Fitwerx2 for an incredible job on my New Guru Crono this past winter.  I completed my first triathlon of the season with it this past weekend (Ironbear Sprint Tri in Maine) and it performed incredibly.  Also, thanks for some last minute tuning and advice that was given the week prior to the race.  The fit was perfect and the ride was awesome.

-Ken, NH

Beautiful Job

The Crono is great. I’ve only had it on the road twice (as I prefer to ride my road bike in the crappy weather) but I’ve put in a lot of trainer time on the bike. I really like it! The position feels perfect. I’m really looking forward to logging some long miles outside when the weather turns. Thanks again as you guys did a beautiful job.

-Jay, MA

Riding Like A Champion

Just a quick message from Jim in Florida. The Parlee Dream Machine is riding like a champion. It is fast responsive and very comfortable. The new fit position is extremely comfortable with no back discomfort. I do believe that my power delivery is greater with this new position. I am using the iBike power meter and that is something very interesting as I have never used power before.  I have about 500 miles on the bike and it is the Z3 Dream Machine.  Jim, FL

I just wanted to let you know that I survived the Boston Marathon and was able to go riding this past weekend. The weather finally cleared and we had a beautiful, sunny weekend. I rode for three hours on Sunday and was so comfortable I couldn’t believe it. The bike fit is great!

-Petra, MA

Awesome

I have been able to log some miles and so far the bike (CXII) is awesome. I have been able to finish my training routes without stopping to stretch my back where previously I was not able to accomplish this. It is I who should be thanking you and all of the staff at Fit Werx.  Thanks again.

-Jim, NY

Wow!

I finally got out on the TT bike today.  Wow!

-Roger, NYC

It’s Like Riding A New Bike

I just wanted to let you know that I got my bike out for the first ride of the spring today since having you fit it, weather being what it has been.  It’s like riding a new bike.  Able to stay in aero position for miles without pain or soreness and could definitely feel the improved efficiency, especially up hills.  My speed is clearly increased by 2-3mph.  Well worth the money… When it’s time for a new bike, I will definitely give you a call. Thanks again for everything.

-David, NH

Your Professionalism, Product Knowledge and Attention To Detail Surpassed Expectations

I just want to say how totally happy I am with last week’s fitting for my new Parlee.  Your professionalism, product knowledge and attention to detail surpassed all my expectations.  I have purchased a few bikes in Toronto over the years and I can say without hesitation that the so-called bike fitting they did in no way compares to that offered by Fit Werx.

-Eugene, ON

Wonderful Bike Fitting Experience

I want to thank you very much for the wonderful bike fitting experience last week. I did ride a computraining ride of 1/2 the Patriot Half  (28.6mi) and it went extremely well. I finished strong and ready to run.The time was right where i wanted to be…..I love the smoothness of the speedplay pedals and the difference in power was very noticeable….Wow! I have to say it was money well spent.

-John, MA

It Is Like Sitting In a Rocking Chair

I just wanted to let you know that the new bike (CXII Ti) is awesome.  Thank you for all of your help!  … It really is amazing to ride a bike that was designed specific to my body.  I tell everyone it is like sitting in a rocking chair.

-Shane, MA

My Back Felt Much Better

Thank you.  We rode a couple of times outside before it snowed again and all the changes helped, my back felt much better.

-Billy, NY

Little Discomfort, Strong Balanced Power, And Good Energy

I had a chance to dial in my other road bike and spent 5 hrs in the saddle by the time weekend was out.  I highly doubt I would have been able to do this so early in the season if I had not come to see you!  I felt little in the way of discomfort during the ride or in adjusting to the fit.  No numbness in my hands, little to no hip discomfort, strong and balanced power distribution to the pedals, and good energy considering the time of year.  The positioning and tweaks to my cleats along with the foot beds have been monumental.  These two things alone were well worth the effort!

-Scott, VT

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.  (My new Legend ST is the…) first time in my life I was comfortable in the TT position.  I covered 20 miles in 55 minutes.  I did the same course in an 1:03 a couple of weeks ago… It was really, really great.   Thanks again for your help.

-Jason, KS

Fantastic!

Great to see you guys, as always we had a blast hanging out at the shop (in VT) and getting caught up with you guys (sorry we milled around for so long but we always have so much fun there….).

Man you really nailed the frame design.  I obviously went custom so the frame would enable me to achieve proper positioning but to be honest the aesthetic look/profile of the bike was also important….and the dimensions you put together are perfect….it looks fantastic!!

I rode the bike on the trainer last night for an hour and it felt really good. Brandon did a great job calibrating the SRM as power numbers were what I would have expected for given intervals. the cockpit felt really nice and i’m glad we went without the risers under the pads as the current set up made for great hand positioning on extensions; all 3 points of contact felt very well supported and body was very well supported/relaxed during the workout. I cannot wait to get it on the road and see how it feels but on the trainer it was fantastic.

Thanks again. The process and attention to detail were fantastic as always, and the bike is just beautiful. Thanks for helping me spec it out … I wouldn’t change a thing (btw thanks for the black cable housing, gray would have killed the look!)…

More Comfortable, Powerful Ride

Hello everyone,

Just a quick heads up on a new, and much needed, local resource that you should check out when you have some free time.

As we all know, a cyclist’s performance is affected by a wide variety of variables, the biggest of which is obviously fitness.  The best bike in the world will do you little good if its engine (i.e. you) is weak.  However, if you’re willing to put the time in and do what must be done to prepare effectively for competition or whatever performance goals you set for yourself, you should take the time to ensure that the bike you’re riding, or plan to ride, in no way inhibits your ability to either train, or race to your utmost potential.

For those of you not already in the know, I’m excited to fill you in on the recent opening of the North Shore’s first and only bike fit specialist shop, Fit Werx2.

The concept behind the Fit Werx2 philosophy is simple:  Fit the bike to the rider, NOT the rider to the bike.  As athletes, we all possess a unique anatomical and physiological make up.  To put it simply, the position that you maintain on a bike will have direct bearing upon not only your biomechanical efficiency, but your comfort and overall performance as well.  Poor positioning not only leads to discomfort and the potential for injury, but to loss of wattage/power/velocity.  Optimize your position and you’ll find that you’re not only able to ride faster, but stay comfortable while doing so.

I recently stopped by Fit Werx2 and was immediately impressed with the shop and all that it had to offer.  Dean Phillips, Co-Owner, fit specialist and Pro Triathlete, walked me through the exhaustive fit process that he utilizes to ensure that each cyclist he works with attains optimal riding position and bike selection.

I grew more and more excited thinking about the application; most cyclists purchase an expensive bike and go about trying to fine-tune their position over a number of weeks, months or even years.  Doing so often times means swapping out stems to increase or shorten reach, replacing entire cranks to optimize pedal stroke/cadence, purchasing new aero bars in the quest to increase aerodynamic efficiency and/or comfort… the list goes on and on.

At Fit Werx2 the staff takes your unique anatomy, goals, injury/overuse history, etc. into account and takes the guesswork out of the bike fit equation.  Whether you’re looking to purchase a new ride or simply optimize your position on the one you currently own, you’re going to walk out the door with a bike that fits you like a glove.  The end result:  a more comfortable, powerful ride.

The new shop is located on 67 Foster Street in Peabody MA.

Even if you’re not currently in need of a bike fit, I’d encourage you to stop by and check out their impressive stock of aero wheels, high-end TT and road bikes, and triathlon/road racing accessories.

As a coach, I’m just happy to see these types of high-end services now available on the North Shore.  The Fit Werx2 staff is friendly, laid back and extremely informative.  You’ll learn a lot just by stopping in and seeing what they’re all about.

For more information, check them out on the web at: www.fitwerx.com  or give them a call at 978-532-7348

Keep rolling!

-Janda

Perfect

My Serotta Fierte IT is…Perfect! Went for my first ride today (beginning base building) and the bike is a dream! smooth, responsive, quiet and makes me proud!   I am so happy. More riding this week, I hope.  Thank you both.

-Susan,PA

Nothing But Comfortable And Fast

First off, just wanted to say again how happy I am with my bike. Two years and two ironmans later I can say it’s been nothing but comfortable and fast over the miles. More importantly, I still love to ride it so my thanks for that.

-Leigh, NH.

Better Alignment

I tried my new Rocket7 shoes today on my trainer. The fit is great. No numbness at all in my toes. Of course, the real test will come when I try them outside, but I am quite confident that my fitting problems are solved! The main difference with my other shoes is that I feel no pressure at all on the outer part of the foot.   (It) must be a combination of the wider toe box and custom foot bed. I also notice that my right knee seems to be better aligned. It used to wobble a few millimetres on each pedal stroke. Now it falls straight, just like my left knee.   Can’t wait to try them outside. Seems like it was worth the drive to Waitsfield!  I will certainly recomment your services to my teamates!

-Dominique, Montreal

Love The Fit

I rode my new Serotta bike today and loved the ride and especially the fit – frame, aero bars, pedals, and seat are awesome…!  And the Sidi bike shoes/foot beds fit great too.  Thanks.

-Mark, MA

Won My Age Group

The fit you gave me in the fall worked great.  I won my AG
(45-49) at Ironman Korea and qualified for Hawaii.  I went 10:32 in Hawaii.  It was a great year and a lot of it was because of the great setup on my bike; I went 5:20 in Hawaii and 5:30 in Korea.  If you ever want a testimonial or reference just ask.  Best regards.

-John, CT

One Of  A Kind Service

I wanted to say thank you again for the personalized service you game me when I was up for the Performance Analysis. I have never had that kind of service from anyone since I started this sport 5 years ago. You and Sarah have been great, and I will convey this to everyone I can.

In regards to the new fit, it feels great. The combination of the new S bends and the seat adjustment, I can feel the increased power output. This is going to make a huge difference in the up coming season.  I will let you know how things are progressing. Thanks again and Happy New Year.

-Al, CT

Fours Through Ice And Snow, Worth It

First let me express my satisfaction with the whole fitting and buying process that took place this Saturday.  While driving four hours through ice and snow covered roads I was hoping this would be all worth it.  I can tell you it was.  I felt everything was done professionaly, especially from a injury prevention standpoint, and never felt you were trying to sell me more bike then I needed.   When I got home I started reading everything I could on the Guru Cron’Alu and was impressed (and relieved) when I read such good reviews.  Also very impressed with the Guru company as I read they have excellent quality control.  Thanks again.

-Lloyd, NY

I Love Everything About It

Wow!!! The bike (Crono) is an awesome work of art!!!  It is so beautiful that I was afraid to ride her on Christmas…  The fit is perfection.   I could only do 10 miles because I was not feeling well; but everything was so perfect that I really wanted to go all day. I don’t know how you do it, but it is awesome to ride a bike that has been fit by you. Thank You… I Love everything about it.

-Karen, MA

Smoother Ride

(I) just wanted to give you some feedback on the new ride. Time will be the true judge, but the bike feels much better to me.  I can really tell the difference in the wheel size (feels more stable) and I was pleased that it felt like it “fit” better than the Trek Hilo. I know the Elite (Magnus) is still a stiff bike but the road vibration was noticeably less.  I was on a loop that I ride almost every week all summer and the pavement felt smoother.

-Carl, NH

Perfect Ride

Went for a great ride – bike (Ottrott ST) is unbelievable – incredibly light yet  perfect ride –  I was expecting to bounce around a little and was expecting that such a light bike was going to be “oversensitive or too responsive” that clumsy old me would be all over the road – but it’s absolutely fantastic.  Thanks.   Couldn’t be happier.

-Josh, NH

Recommend Fit Werx

I couldn’t be more pleased with the fit service and the new Cervelo.  In my case, the changes were pretty significant.  I would definitely recommend Fit Werx to others.

-Alex, CT

4th Overall

Wanted to drop you a line and say thanks for all of your help this year.  The Soloist and I became a good team, and it looks like my final ranking is going to be 4th for all Masters Nationwide in crits.

-Dave, VT

Fits Like a Glove

I just dropped 30 seconds off my 14 mile time trial course with dead legs and 25 mph winds.  The new Team Soloist is awesome!  It fits like a glove and feels oh so fast.  I can’t wait until tri season next year.  Thanks for great ride.

-Steve, VT

Wheels Are Awesome

Just a quick note to say that the wheels are awesome.  I had a race on Saturday and loved the Zipps.  Thanks so much for your professionalism and quick turnaround…just wanted to say thanks.

-Peter, D.C.

First Place Overall

Lynley and I are proud to say that, riding our bikes built by Fit Werx, we both earned first place overall finishes at the annual Echo Lake bike race!  This was Lynley’s first victory, she beat all of her competition from the previous year when she finished fourth, and she was excited to say the least!    We would like to thank all of the staff at Fit Werx for the excellent fit and bike construction.  It is safe to say that the results may have been different if we were not mounted on such superior and efficient rides.

-Keone, VT

A Bike Built to Me

Wow! Wow! Wow!  It is amazing having a bike build to me!  I had no idea riding could feel like that. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!

-Abbi, VT

The Bike Makes a Big Difference

It may not be “all about the bike” – but boy does the”the bike make a big difference”!  One hundred and twelve miles riding efficiently and in comfrot makes a huge difference in a very long day.  Thank you so very much for your expertise and guidance – Please know that you are sincerely appreciated!  And now that I have a little experience, your expertiseand guidance will make an even bigger difference in future races.   Keep up the great work and take care.

-Joni, VT

Changed My Life

I AM LOVING IT!!! My new bike (Soloist Team) is AWESOME. It has changed my life. Getting comfy in the aero bars and flying on the roads. Went over to Timberman and rode the bike course with Kelley. Now I just need to remember that there is a 13 mile run after the bike so I don’t blow it all on the bike.

-Doug, VT

The Best Shop Ever

Just wanted to give you a quick note to say that the bike (P3 Carbon) is, well, still awesome…  I got off the bike, put my running shoes on, and actually started to run!  My feet didn’t hurt!  This is a huge step forward for me!  Thanks for the work with the custom insoles.   Thanks again.  You all are the best shop I’ve ever been in, and I’ve been in quite a few.

-Colin, IN (now VT )

CXII Amazing

The CXII is amazing. Very comfortable and powerful position.

-Guy, MA

What a Difference

I’ve been meaning to send you a note, since our visit to your shop. I’ve gone on two rides since the visit, a 25 mile loop around my house and I rode the Timberman course (65 miles w/getting lost) on Friday. Boy, what a difference. Starting with my shoes, it was like I had on a different pair. Thanks go to Sarah for helping me get the buckles just right. Usually after a ride of 65 miles or so, my back and neck would be sore, not now. I got off the bike and ran 3 miles and actually felt rather fresh. I wanted to thank the both of you for a superior job at getting me properly fitted on my bike.    Thanks again.

-Chuck.  MA

Knee Pain Non Existent

First let me extend my greatest appreciation to you gets guys (and girls) for the fit you gave to me a bit over a year ago now.  I know it’s kind of a late thank you but certainly a well deserved one.  Since then I have increased everything on the bike, watts, speed, etc. but more importantly since the fit any knee pain I was experiencing is now non-existent.  Thank you and I am certainly recommending your shop to all my multisport friends.

-Scott, CT

No More Burning Quads

I just wanted to thank you for setting my bike up about 7 weeks ago for Ironman USA. Before coming in I was burning my quads out on all long bike rides and after spending the few hours with you, I am now riding very comfortably with no leg issues. I just finished Lake Placid and everything went very well for me and my bike of 112 miles was great. I ran the marathon and never once had a quad issue. Thank you for fitting me in and fixing the issues I was experiencing.

-Steven, MA

3rd in My Age Class

Just a word to let you know the combined weight adjustments you made on the Cannondale, fit, and Zach’s tune up of the shifting worked great — we had awesome weather at Mt. Washington for the race today.  I finished 3rd in my age class, which is unbelievable for me, and beat the time I was shooting for by 2 minutes — so thanks for your ideas and efforts.

-Dave, MA

Comfortable

Thank you so much for the time you spent with me for my new bike.  I absolutely love it!!!  I’ve gone on two rides since Saturday and I can’t believe how comfortable the bike is for me.  I no longer feel like I’m hunched over on the handle bars, the new seat is great and so are my shoes.  I hope to get a long ride in this weekend which will be, I’m sure, even more convincing that I made the right purchase.

-Jane, NY

Adjustments Worked Perfectly

I just wanted to let you know that the adjustments you made to my bike in May have worked perfectly – I was able to increase my mileage immediately – rode 35 miles of the trip from Greenfield MA to Pittsfield VT and then 38 miles back the next day on Memorial Day weekend with minimal stress on the IT band – Since then I have been riding 25 plus miles at least once a week with very little discomfort – we are on vacation next week and I am planning to try at least a couple 40 mile trips – my speed has also improved – Thanks so much for your time and effort, I am truly enjoying riding again and (before my fitting) I honestly was not sure that I would be able to (even ride this season).

-Nikki, MA

Increased Speed And Lower Heart Rate

I rode about 11 miles because I was somewhat short for time and nervous about the knee.  When I got home the average speed was indeed almost 2mph higher than I do for that loop with an average heart rate 10 beats lower than normal — even going easy because of the knee.  Very interesting and clearly pretty powerful stuff…

-Guy, MA

As Though I Got a New Bike

I just wanted you to know – the fit is awesome – It’s as though I got a new bike.

-Doug, NYC

Great Company

I just want to reiterate that I am a happy customer.  I appreciate how you handled everything.  In my view, a good company does a lot of things right.  A great company is able to fix things on the few occasions that perfection is not attained.  You guys are a great company. (Note:  Ryan’s new bike had a mechanical/warranty issue that arose the day after he picked it up)

-Ryan, MA

The Nicest Bike I’ll Ever Ride

I just wanted to send you a quick thank-you for my new bike! It rides like a dream. I just cannot believe the difference in how a frame can respond! It’s quick, stiff, accelerates well, climbs like there is no tomorrow and absorbs so much of the bumps and cracks in the road I feel like I’m riding a full-suspension Mt. bike!!! It feels like it was made for me…..Ha! Thanks so much for providing me with the opportunity to ride the nicest bike I’ll ever ride! I cannot say thanks enough. And you can believe that the bike will see lots of riding and go many places!  Thanks Again.

-Tonya, VT

Fit Feels Great

I just want to send a quick note along to tell you that the fit feels great.  I’ve put in a few hundred miles and everything feels good so far.  Thanks for all your help!

-Rick, MA

The Best Bike Buying Experience I’ve Ever Had

The bike (Cervelo P3)… is stone-cold awsome!  The position feels great, very stable and fast.  We talked about how I’m usually a bit tentative at high speeds.  So I tried a few things, such as looking behind me at 30+ mph and riding one-handed in the aero position at 30+ mph.  I felt very good and safe and stable all the time.  And FAST!!

Thanks again for everything.  My experience Sunday was hands-down the best bike buying experience I’ve ever had, and your shop is the nicest of the many I have visited.  You guys really do things right.

-Colin, VT.

3rd Place Overall

This past spring was amazing for me.  I started off the season consistently placing in the top 15 of every race, often being part of decisive breaks or selections.  After the first two weeks I started consistently placing in the top 3.  I became the racer to watch throughout my spring season.  Others always wanted to be in my break knowing it would probably stay away or always wanted to be on my wheel when we hit the hills knowing it’d be a little easier to follow me rather than trying to go faster.  After races, kids would tell come up to me and say ”Hi” or “Good job” and this came from people that I didn’t even know.  Before races someone would save me a spot up front.  It was a very new, but welcomed experience.  I was able to lock up a 3rd place for the season overall which was also pretty exciting.
I just wanted to say thanks for the fit, its working out great.

-Ryan, NH

The Changes Feet Great

I found my fit w/you to be extremely helpful. You are so knowledgeable and professional and I just wished that I had done this prior to buying my bike. So far the changes feel great. I feel much more balanced on the bike and have had no neck, shoulder or back discomfort. My right(shorter) leg is definitely working harder and I’m trying to be aware of using both legs more equally. So far I have had no pain or straining in other muscle groups, so I’m very pleased! …Again, thanks so much for your time and help. I am passing the word about you around Lake Placid. I will see how this bike does for me this season, but I do think a custom made bike is in my future and I will definitely come to you for that!

-Dorine, NY.

Passed with Flying Colors

I just finished up the Tour of Shenandoah on Sunday.  On Saturday was a 15 mile TT (this followed 3 100+ mile days of climbing), which was the first real test of the fit you set me up on last Aug…and it passed with flying colors.  I averaged near 29 mph (on a rolling/hilly course), and I have done 0 (that’s zero) workouts on it so far this year.  A little training should have me moving pretty well, but I’m definitely starting out with an advantage from the gun.
THANK YOU!

-Josh, Cat 1, VT

No Pain

Riding sure feels different, in a good way.  I’ve been riding with the spinscan last two mornings and feel my different muscles (quads and calves) at work. no pain in the knee or hip. the insoles rock. My feet feel stable and I am not constantly adjusting my foot angle.  Glad to know I had the best working on my bike so I can ride without wondering if my position was aggravating an injury. Nice to have that confidence when I am out there on the road. Thanks.

-Jill, NH

Absolutely Amazing

I have finally been able to get some good rides on my bike and I can’t even begin to tell you how happy I am with it.  The thing is absolutely amazing.  Also, you guys were great during the whole process, putting up with all my questions and my hemming and hawing and ultimately guiding me into a great bike that fits me perfectly.  Thanks so much,

-Sean, ME

Improved Tremendously

I want to tell you that my riding has improved tremendously.  I did some good training for 16 weeks leading up to the Ironman Arizona held on April 9th.  My best bike time for the 112 mile leg was 6 hrs.+.  I clocked on Sunday a 5 hrs. & 19 mins Ride!  I didn’t want to say anything to you until I see the results for my self.

–Patrick, Jamaica

Amazing The Difference That The Small Changes Made

Ian — just  a note to thank you for the time you spent on the footbeds, the fit changes and the cleat fit.  I could definitely tell the difference when I rode on Sunday and Monday — I was able to use a much higher percentage of the pedal stroke with comfort.  I found that my quads were less tired as other muscles were sharing the work, and my average cadence (and therefore speed) were much higher today — on one of my “normal routes.”  Amazing the difference that the small changes made.

-Dave, CT

Fascinating

I wanted to thank you again for your time and patience yesterday in doing my fitting. I found the whole experience fascinating.

-Diane, MA

Extremely Responsive

The bike (Serotta Fierte IT) rides great… The bike is extremely responsive. When I pound, it responds very quickly. It is impressive. It also feels stiffer than my De Rosa. I wouldn’t have expected that, but it really feels that way. It’s not harsh though.

-Al,NH

So Responsive

I just wanted to let you know that I went out to San Francisco last weekend and brought the Guru for a long training weekend – it was the first time I’ve ridden outside with it and I have to say that it was unbelievable.  It was so responsive – it was like it hopped right along with me up the hills.  And the SRM is absolutely invaluable.  I can’t believe I used to ride without that data.  What a difference.

One of the Best Purchases I’ve Ever Made

I love the Rocket7 shoes (we made).  They are one of the best purchases I’ve ever made.

-Seth, OR.

Perfect Situation

I gotta tell you…Paula’s bike came out great! It is really, REALLY beautiful! We both love it! The build is outstanding too. Beautiful job! I really can’t say enough! And the best part is that I think it is going to work great for her too. Truly a perfect situation all around.

-Bob and Paula, MA

Loved the Fit

I rode outside on Saturday and loved the bike fit! So much more comfortable and it did feel more efficient.. so onward.. Thanks so much.

-Liz, MA

Great Fitting

Just a quick note to say thanks for a great fitting last Saturday with Zach and Ian. Everyone was great.  I’ve been riding the bike on the rollers short distances the last 2 days with no knee pain which is a revelation.

-Dave, MA.

Amazing What A Really Good Fit Can Do

Thanks for the great fit.  The 40-50 watts I had lost in when in the aero position are back!   Amazing what a really good fit can do.  Ian, you are the (bike fit) man.  My only problem now is that my coach wants to “check out the bike to see if the fit is OK”.  He can look, but he can’t touch.

-Jim, NY

It Worked Great

I set up the Hilo as you recommended and it worked great. Thanks for your help. (Note:  Donna set an age group record at Kona in 2005.  Congatulations!)

-Donna, VT

The Numbers Looked So Good

(My bike) seems a lot better.  Maybe I’m in better shape, but the numbers looked so good today I thought for a second it was reading kph not mph!

-Jeff, Bermuda

Smoother, Faster, Quieter, Better Handling, More Comfortable, Better Technology

Hope all is well with you guys.  I had a great ride on Sunday with the new bike (Concours CS Tri)!  The difference between my old bike and new was like going from my 97 Honda Accord with 180k miles to my new Audi A6.  Smoother, faster, quieter, better handling, more comfortable, better technology, just awesome!  I can’t wait to get some race wheels (well, maybe next year). Thank you so much for the set-up; you guys are the best!  See you at the races.

-Rich, NH

VERY Pleased

I just wanted to let you know that my wife and I competed in the Ironman Hawaii and our bikes performed well.  I competed in the 55 to 59 age group and Lori competed in the 50 to 55.  I did an 11:32 – that placed me 12th in the age group.  Lori did a 12:43 and placed 17th in her age group.  We were both VERY pleased with the “fitting” you did to our bikes.

-Rich, PA

A Race Horse

I did the Wrentham Du and rode the (new) Guru…anyway, the thing is a race horse!!!   I finished the 11 miles in 34 minutes and I think I am going to really like that bike.  Since it was my first race, I know there is a lot of time I can shave off that but thanks for the fitting!!

-John, MA

More Powerful and Efficient

Thanks so much for your help. I think I am more powerful and efficient with the footbeds. I did the same ride as last week yesterday with the new footbeds (112 mile ride). I did the first 56 in 2:38 avg speed 21 mph with HR avg 130. This was 7 minutes faster than last week at the same HR!!!! 100mile split was 4:57 and last weeks was 5:13!!!! 16 min faster at same HR avg!!! I soft pedaled the last 12,  but still rode 14-15 min faster than last week.  Thanks again.

-John, VT

Tired But No Pain

The new bike (IF Crown Jewel SE) is fantastic and the season has been a success… The neck and shoulder pain that I had with my old bike has disappeared completely with the position you developed for me.  I now finish long rides tired but with no pain whatsoever.  I absolutely love the footbeds and the confidence they give me knowing that my alignment is being corrected.

I am actually glad that the local bike shops are inept when it comes to fitting a bike and developing a sound position because it led me to your shop.  I have absolutely no regrets about my decision to travel to Vermont to work with Fit Werx.  I have two century rides left on this year’s calendar and I am looking forward to next season’s transition to Doubles and 12-hour TT’s.  I hope to come back to Fit Werx to develop a more precise aero position as my riding progresses and my body develops.  In the meantime I will continue spreading the word about your skill as a bike fitter and ability to produce the footbeds that I think every rider needs.  Thanks again.

-Glen

Best At What You Do

Just wanted you to know I am very very happy with the new bike (Legend ST). The comfort level is amazing. I simply cannot believe how it absorbs my weight against the bumps and cracks in the road… the day after I saw you guys I did my 12 mile time trial :45 sec faster than ever before.  Played hooky yesterday (first time in 13 years) to take it out for 34 miles.  I rode through the forest roads near our house which are loaded with cracks and frost heaves. I am simply amazed at how smooth this bike is. Of course I still felt the large bumps, but the smaller ones just aren’t even there.   Anyways, you guys are clearly the best at what you do and I am ecstatic with the new bike. Thanks for eveything and I’ll be posting a similar report for our team to read this week.

-Mark, MA

The Changes Are Terrific

I rode close to 50 miles on Saturday in the islands and another 35 today from Waterbury to Williston – with a headwind on the way back of course.  The changes you made are terrific – particularly the change in positioning of the handlebars.  I picked up an average of 1.2 miles per hour with a little less effort and with much less fatigue between my shoulder blades…

In any event, thanks for your help with getting the bike to fit more comfortable and efficiently.  It really was impressive to see how much difference the adjustments made.

-Phyllis, VT

I Did Want To Get Off It

I went for a 4.5h ride this morning with Rick!  I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE MY (New) BIKE (Serotta Concours Tri)!   I did not want to get off it!  And I think it is so beautiful!   Thanks a lot!

-Andrea, MA

Very Pleased

I wanted to thank you for your time and effort on the bike-fit.  I definitely felt the benefit of it and am very pleased I made the decision to visit Fit Werx.  Thanks again.  Cheers.

-Scott, MA

Completely Comfortable

I was in this spring and have been extremely happy with my bike fit. I am now riding without any saddle issues at all. I would recommend a good fit and a SaddleCo “Flow” to anyone who have problems like mine. I am now completely comfortable…  Thanks for everything. My fit has made me a happy biker again!

-Jim, VT

Dialed In Perfectly For Me

I just wanted to give you a report on the Ascutney Hillclimb on Saturday. . .I smashed my previous time by almost 4 minutes up the hill and placed 13th overall.  The bike has felt great since the fit over the winter and it was definitley dialed in perfectly for me.  I never felt uncomfortable during any of my hill training (and there as a lot of it) and it obviously paid off.  You continue to do great work!   Thanks again.

-Bill, CT

Amazing Difference

Thanks a million for the fit…  The fit turned out to be a great success. I find myself spending 90% of the time in my aero bars. The other 10% (out of bars) is on hill climbs (e.g. going over Killington). I’m able to stay in the bars on gradual climbs with no problem as of before I would have to get out of the aero position. It’s amazing the difference. I really didn’t think that this TT bike would feel this good compared to my road bike.  Sad to say now it is a toss up on which bike I ride.  I’m going to take your advice and ride the TT bike a couple times a week and the other a couple times to mix things up. As we know they both have their purposes. Thanks again.

-Ryan, VT

Awesome Job

The thing you guys might be interested in is that I was 37th of 290 off the bike.  You guys did an awesome job setting me up.  The new aero bars felt great, that Arione saddle is awesome and the new position works.  I didn’t have any lower back tension like I did in my earlier races.  If you don’t know the course, it’s rolling to moderately hilly — to give you an idea, there is a long descent (and climb back) where I hit 43.5 mph sustained in the aero bars.  The bike felt like it was on rails and didn’t wobble or feel unsteady at that speed.  I averaged 21 mph which could be better, but was respectable given the splits of the guys who finished ahead of me.   All in all, I feel pretty good about it considering I drive a desk and have two little kids that never seem to want me to train.   Thanks again for an awesome ride!!  Also, my (Elite Razor) was by far the most beautiful bike in transition…

-Chris, NY

So Much More Power

Thanks for everything, it was a good experience.   I love my new fiting, so much more power…  the hills seem much smaller and less work now!

-Pascale, VT

Full Superlatives and Accolades

Thank you so much for all of your expertise and assistance last Thursday. My appointment at Fit Werx was one of the best (and most worthwhile) “vacation days” that I have taken from work. No wonder I was too excited to sleep the night before it, and far too keyed up afterward to even consider the possibility of an easy slumber!

I stopped on my way back from Waitsfield to meet up with a couple of my friends for a late afternoon ride on my “new” bike; I did not experience the usual knot in my back/shoulder and my feet felt happy and comfortable. While riding along, I tried to keep in mind the pointers that you gave to me (light hands, strong abs, awareness of the full pedal stroke), again being grateful for your knowledge and insights.

Fit Werx will be foremost when it comes to future services and products, and when my “new bicycle” piggy bank is full, I will be right back at your door! When asked about my appointment in Waitsfield, you can be sure that my response will be full of superlatives and accolades.  For all of your help and kindness, I remain.

-Martha, VT

So Comfortable

Hope you are having a good summer.  I love my (new) bike (Legend ST).  My son and i did an organized “Trek Across Maine”, about 60 mi /day. The bike was so comfortable.

-Paul, ME

Bike’s Quickness

I now have 510 miles on my new Guru, including one international distance triathlon.  On my first ride I immediately noticed the bike’s quickness.  Quick was not even a word I would have thought to use to describe a bike, but that was how it felt right out of the gate.  Another surprise is its comfort.  Long rides are easy.  No more numb body parts.  I can stay on the aero bars much longer, almost as long as I want.  Riding is now much more fun than it was on the old Cannondale.

In Sunday’s triathlon through hilly Ashland and Hopkinton Mass., the bike leg was the strongest of the three (highest overall finish position for the leg).  That’s a first for me…  The Guru has many attributes which make it superior to my old machine, but its quickness, comfort and resultant speed stand out the most.

Thanks for your good work.  My summer will be more fun because of it.  Cheers.

-Tom, MA

Extremely Knowledgeable and Professional Service

Thank you so much for your help yesterday.  I’m impressed with your extremely knowledgeable and professional service.  I’ll let you know how the riding goes.  Have a great summer.

One of the Best Consumer Experiences

I’ve been so so happy with my bike. I’d say working with you has been one of the best consumer experiences I’ve had.  The true testimonial comes from some of the long rides I’ve been on with Robin. We ride along with some other folks and at the end of 100 miles, everyone else is rubbing their neck and shoulders while we just keep going in relative comfort. It’s subtle but I’ve definitely noticed it on some of the longer rides : )

-Elizabeth, MA

Go Up Hills Faster and Easier

Thanks Ian! And please pass along a thank you to Sarah too! You’ve all been great. :-)

The new bike and fit are wonderful! I did my first century ride of the season in Lake Placid this past weekend. I can tell the new bike is going to work out very well for me…I was able to get up hills faster than I used to be able to and the hills didn’t seem as hard, I didn’t have any knee or neck pain the entire ride, and I felt like I had more control of the bike on the downhills. It’ll be interesting to see how much better I’m able to do this year at IMUSA.  Train Safe.

-Cindi

Love the Bike

I had a great ride on my new Guru Saturday (52 miles)… Love the bike and it looks awesome.

-Larry, MA

Finished Relaxed, Comfortable, Ready for the Run

I’ve been training all spring on my Serotta CXII that you recommended. I liked the bike after the first ride but did not appreciate it fully until the Mooseman race this past weekend. This was the first 1/2 iron where I wasn’t dying to get off the bike after 56 miles. I finished relaxed, comfortable and ready for the run – this is a big boost of confidence for Lake Placid IM.   Thanks for the recommendation and fit.

-John, MA

Individual Attention

Thanks so much.  Went out for a 30-mile ride last night and everything felt great.  My back definitely feels like it’s in a more comfortable position and it doesn’t seem to be stressing my hamstrings too much either.  You’re right– being further out over the handlebars does make the steering a little squirrelly at first, but it’s nothing I can’t get used to.  Thanks again for all the individual attention, I feel great now about the upcoming season.

-John, MA

Best in the Business

Just wanted to tell you how much I LOVE my new CX II.  I can’t believe how much easier the hills are around here.  I just have to learn to keep my upper body still!  Seriously, the first hour of riding on the new bike, I was very nervous, and felt a little wary.  After that, I’ve been really comfortable, and have enjoyed every minute.  I’m like a big kid — with a grin from ear to ear.  I’m very glad I worked with you, and believe you guys are the best in the business.  I’ll look forward to seeing you out on the road!

-Lynn, NH

Impressed With Overall Ride and Comfort

The bike feels AWESOME.  It was super comfortable.  I found myself cringing as I came to noticibly bumpy roads because those sections of road used to hurt with my old bike… felt great with this one.  I was very impressed with the overall ride and comfort of the bike (and my left foot felt great, what you did to the footbed fixed the problem)…I’m very happy with the bike.

-Matt, NY

Great Bike Buying Experience

Just wanted to say thanks for the great bike buying experience.  That was the least stressful big ticket item I have ever purchased and it was all due to how you handled everything.  I never felt like I was being “sold” anything, you make it very easy to tap into your enormous wealth of bike knowledge.  I usually leave after purchasing large items questioning weather I made the right choices and I never did that with this bike, and I think a big part of that is I felt like you provided me with all the information I needed and then some.  I threw the CXII on the rollers this morning and it feels great… Way different than my road bike… and even in the few minutes I was on the rollers I could feel different muscles being used with the new geometry… Anyway just wanted to say thanks again and after dealing with you I don’t think I would want to buy a bike (or fit an old bike) anywhere else.  I’ll see you at the Tinman… look for the fastest bike split… ok maybe not fastest… top 10?? (bike split… bottom 10 on the swim split).

-Matt, NY

Expertise

I LOVE my bike!!  I’m still learning but loving the process!  Of the three disciplines for the tri’s finally there is one that is some fun to train for.  Naturally, I wish I could get out more but I take what I can get when I can get it.  Hope the season is treating you both well.  Thank you again for all your expertise–it really made a tremendous difference.  Take care.

-Beth, MA

Great Fit

The first ride on the new “nameless” beast was incredible.  Stiff but decidedly smooth (real smooth).  Bottom bracket stiffness is bomber…even superior to my TCR!  The position is sooooo comfy.  I was feeling pretty stiff after the car ride home, so I decided to go for a quick spin.  1.5hrs later I didn’t want to get off.  I think I like the saddle, but it may take a few rides to get a real appreciation of the comfort level (my Brooks was sad..it cried while I was out).  The Ottrott really climbs well.  Some of the perceived reduced effort may be position and comfort.  I cannot say enough about the position.  I really felt alot of power when climbing.  It was really a kick.  I think I’ve always compensated for a low head tube by lowering my saddle slightly.  I always get “spring knee” or chondromalacia as we call it.  I think those days are over.  I am so glad I heard about your fitting service and followed through with the whole operation.  I will give you a 7 day update, but thumbs-up so far.  I think I experienced the same ride Ben Serotta had in France today.  It was like being a little kid again!
Cheers,

-C4, NH

Great and Comfortable

I really enjoyed our time together and learned a great deal.   The bike feels great.  I have gone out a couple times for 30 milers and really feel more comfortable.  And, the new pedals are another nice improvement—more of a stable feel and more power.

-Jon, MA

Bike Fit To You

I have worked with a half-dozen different bike-fitting people through the years, both personally and professionally (as a PT).  Fit Werx rented space from the PT clinic that I ran for 2 years (I have since moved on to another clinic), which gave me excellent viewpoints from which to watch them work with many athletes of varying abilities, including my fiancee.

Watching how they worked with other people finally enticed me to work with them personally.  I went to see them up in VT, and got fit prior to ordering a new bike.  While on the size cycle, I found myself thinking that this was pretty close to how I felt on the bike I had been riding to that point… quite comfortable.  The following day I got back on my (old) bike and thought to myself, “Jeez, am I stretched out on this thing.”  I have not been more happy with a bike since getting my new one from Fit Werx.

Many of the bike fitters that I have seen and worked with look at various data points, mainly what the angles of your knee and hip are while sitting on your bike.  Ian and Sarah work a little differently, and from a PT standpoint, much better.  First they measure you and then they measure you on your bike.  They look at your flexibility, your reach, etc, prior to even putting you on the size cycle.  What it feels like is that they fit you to your bike as much as they fit your bike to you.  And they do a good job explaining why they recommend any changes that might be prudent.

As for working with other shops, there are some good ones.  However, with regards to bike fitting, I don’t think that they have nearly the depth of experience that Ian and Sarah have.  My fiancee came away from her fit at another shop having her bike fit… but not fitting her bike.  A subtle difference, but also the difference between being thrilled with her ride, and not liking her ride.  Taking the same bike to Fit Werx, she came away liking her ride, though not thrilled with it (the bike’s geometry isn’t quite right for the geometry of her body… something most shops, again, don’t take into account).

…I don’t think you will find anyone with more knowledge and more experience than Ian.  If you’re looking to get fit for your bike, go anywhere.  If you’re looking for your bike to fit you, go see Ian.

-Chris, MA

Fantastic

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. My new fit is fantastic! I spent an hour on the trainer Saturday after I got home and actually enjoyed it.  Big Thanks,

-Mike, VT

More Power and Comfort

The fit is great.   I was in the drops for about 20 minutes straight with no discomfort.
No way I could do that before.  I hardly moved around in the saddle at all.  I had no need nor desire.   I hadn’t realized that I had been pointing my toes down on the down stroke.   I don’t know when I started doing that or why, but now I don’t do it.   In fact, when I tried to point my toe down it was difficult maintain.   The difference in the pedal stoke was very noticeable.   Much “cleaner” stroke.  It was the first thing I noticed.  Also, climbing out of the saddle, my stroke felt shorter if that makes any sense.  It definitely felt like I had better down force climbing and the computer (Hac 4) indicated that the power was greater than usual on the climbs, but I didn’t push any gears to really test it.   It felt great. I’m very pleased.

-Bruce, MA

Fantastic Fitting

I went for a ride yesterday, 11/18/04, with a group of speed demons.  I was a bit anxious about the ride, all aspects of it, the people, the terrain and the distance.  I’d ridden by myself and with a friend who rides slower than I do and found the fitting to be great at lower speeds.

I’d made this ride before the fitting and I absolutely died!!!  I couldn’t wait to get off the bike.  The ride yesterday was fantastic!!!!  There were four of us and we flew.  The last third of the ride is mostly uphill, climbing, which killed me the last time out.  Not so this time!!!!!  I hadn’t realized just how good the fitting was…It’s fantastic…thanks again!!!!!

-Mike, NY

Better Vibration Damping

Thanks for your help in selling my (old) frame.  The new IF is great – what a difference a real custom fit makes.  Its a real stiff frame, but I think the vibration damping is actually better than on my carbon bike.  Thanks for a great job.

-Jim, NY

Excellent Service

I just wanted to update you on the season and to see how things are going up north. The Serotta seemed to become more comfortable and responsive with each mile I put on it. I’m looking forward to seasoning it with more miles (like fine wine, it gets better with each ride). In the future, I would love to do the performance and digital aero-dynamic analysis that you offer. My bike times improved this year and I was pleased with the comfort of the aero position.
However, I know there is always room for improvement. I often had people approach me about my bike and I didn’t hesitate to tell them about Fit Werx and the excellent service that you provide.

-Lindee, PA

Bike and Rider are One

Thanks for the fit numbers; I appreciate the information.  I have to say that I just love my bike!  I haven’t done any long rides yet, but have been focusing on gaining comfort with getting into and out of my pedals and aero bars, etc.  Sarah’s tip of going into partial aero on either side to work up to full aero was really helpful.  I’ve already been riding in full aero, although I’m not yet ready to move the arm rest pads in yet.

As I’ve been getting to know my new ride, I can’t help but to compare the process to that of first getting to know my car (also a TT).  Both are elegant, aerodynamically efficient machines with all wheel drive (Quattro on the car–duo on the bike) and turbo engines that kick in at the appropriate shift of the gears.  Both like to go fast, and want to go fast–reins pulled in only by the driver until she’s ready to meet their potential.  When I drive my TT I feel totally connected with her, and that we are a unit on the road.  The same is true of my Serotta–when I click into the pedals we become a unit, ready to work the road.  The difference here, though, is that she was fit and made to order, so that she literally becomes an extension of my own body.  This is the most amazing sensation!  I look forward to realizing the full potential of how we can handle the road together!

Thank you, Ian and Sarah, for your expertise.  It has been a pleasure doing business with you, and the experience has exceeded my best expectations.  I will definitely continue to be in touch, and will not hesitate to ask any questions that may arise.

-Deborah

Feet Felt Great

This past weekend I went out for a 40 miler.  The bike felt great.  No problems with feet falling to sleep.

-Brenda, NJ

A Dream to Ride

I was fortunate to enjoy some spectacular weather and got out for several wonderful rides. The new bike was just fantastic; a dream to ride. The bike made the rides just outstanding and a lot more fun for me. Importantly, it filled me with more confidence in riding (more challenging) terrain. Thank you very much for your time and assistance  in helping me.

-Larry, NJ

Comfortable and Powerful

The new bike is awesome.  I have never been more comfortable and I have noticeably more power!

-Nabil, NH

Solved Back Pain

Thanks for the info. I’ve been meaning to drop you a line or stop by to give you a huge thank you for the fitting. You seem to have solved my back pain! That’s the good news. The bad news is that I no longer have an excuse to stop after 40 miles.   I will be back in the not-too-distant future to finish the tweaking of my bike. And I can assure you that my next bike will originate from your fine shop.   Thanks again.

-Michael

Difference in Comfort and Effort

I want to commend you and Sarah on a really great experience.  I have been on several rides since my fit and notice a significant difference in comfort and effort level.  I am also feeling my hamstrings and glutes, which tells me I’m using muscles in a way I never have before.  I take this to be a good thing.  I will definitely be in touch and hope someday to be back for a nice fitting Serotta.

-Steve, VT

What a Difference a Fit Makes

Hi guys! … I just wanted to say thanks!!!! We just finished IM Austria last month, and man-oh-man, what a difference a fit makes!!! The bike course is 3 loops with a major hill in each loop that comes around 20 miles into the 37 mile loop… from that point to the end of the loop is mostly downhill, with some really fast sections (not steep fast, but where you can get in your highest gear and fly fast) anyway, as I was finishing, it hit me that I was still in the aerobars, and very comfortably in the aerobars!! no one else I was seeing was still in the aerobars on the last loop! but I was still comfortable…  Then I got off the bike, and after changing started to ‘run’ – and my legs were great!! (my stomach however was not, but that isn’t the fit!) I couldn’t believe it, my legs did not feel like rubber, or lead, they just worked! and Bill had the same experience!!! we know that the bike fit is the reason, cuz we have done 6 and 8 other IMs respectively without feeling like that!!
If you need someone to ‘advertise’ for you, let us know, we believe!!! ;-)

The Perfect Bike

I just wanted to finally thank you and let you know how much I LOVE my Serotta!  Thank you so much for putting together the prefect bike for me.  The fit is just right, and it feels so good to be on my bike.  I really feel stronger on this bike.  It feels like I get more power out of my legs.  Ian, you were right when you said I’d love the aerobar position…  I do!  It is so comfortable. To top it all off, I placed 3rd in my division at Musselman ½ Ironman.  It was only my fourth triathlon and it felt great!  I was strong on the bike and was able to finish with a great run too!  Thanks again for your help with picking out the right bike for me and for making the fit just right!

-Leslie, MA

Best Off Bike Run Ever

I wanted to let you know that I raced for the first time on my new bike set up and really noticed a difference. I am able to spend more time in the aero position and the real difference was in the bike run transition. I had the best off bike run ever! So thanks again for making me more comfortable and quicker!

-Kristy, MA

Faster Splits and Better Transitions

I have been very pleased with the position you have set me up in on my bike. I am able to stay on the aero bars much longer and feel I can relax my upper body while racing. The position feels more powerful. My bike splits are faster this year and I’m running well in the bike/run transition in the sprint triathlons I have done this Spring. Training for the Tupper Lake 1/2 Ironman the end of this month with a focus on the Lake Placid Ironman at the end of July.  Again, thanks for your good work and expertise.

-Mike, VT

Skeptic Converted

Road 130 on Saturday. I am thrilled with the new position. I am absolutely converted to the value of a good fitting!  I have to be honest, I was a bit skeptical about it beforehand mainly because over the years I feel like I have moved everything around to every possible position. To suddenly feel smoother and more powerful was quite honestly a shock. A pretty fantastic shock! All the best and thanks again.

-Cecil, NY

Improved Bike Performance

I just wanted to share the good news.  After a rough swim Saturday AM (goggles got swiped off during the (aqua-combat) I got onto the bike determined to make up some time.  One nice thing about having a poor swim is that it provided plenty of people for me to chase.  Well chase I did – I passed so many people and ended up averaging 21.1 mph for a 21 minute improvement from my bike performance last year.  I finished up with a somewhat solid run and placed 196th out of the 700 finishers.  A significant improvement from my 618 out of 856 last year! I enjoyed the bike ride so much and I have the two of you to thank.  I appreciate the good work you did – it makes such a difference!

-Chris, VT

Wonderful and Comfortable Bike Ride

I had a wonderful and comfortable bike ride at Tin Man. I mean, I felt great on that bike! I love it! You guys are pros…  During the bike leg, I commented to a fellow as to how beautiful the bike course was, he said, “Yes, but a little rough.” I said that I didn’t feel the bumps!

-Schatzi, NY

No Aches

A belated thanks from a happy customer. The Serotta and I are bonding on the road and making me want to spend more time on the bike and less time at the office so  buying the Serotta was a success.  From day 1, the bike has been great with no aches even though this almost 60 year old body has ridden very little in the past. I am building up slowly with 20-30 mile rides for first month and will add 5-10 miles this month.

-Jerry, VT

Comfortable and Ready to Run

Thanks for the fit work you did. I really enjoyed meeting you both and appreciate the result of your changes.

-Ed, NY

Gets Better Every Week

This past weekend we went back to Camden, which is very hilly.  I did 23.3mph which is almost 0.3mph faster than I did on a much easier course in Bethel.   I’ve been working real hard on my pedaling technique per the my Spin Scan results, and I think its really helping me a lot.  I’m still developing the new muscles effected by the changes but think it gets better every week.  I expect the season’s results to continue to improve as my strength builds.  Your help is really paying dividends.  I’m really happy I made that call back in February!!!   Best wishes.

-Jim, ME

No Back Pain

Its been about a week since we were together.  The fit has resulted in the following;  No back pain at ALL.  Even during my long bikes which has allowed me to negative split them for the first time.   Speed on the long bikes went up by over .5 mph.  Thanks…I think the only other way to get that much improvement is to loose 10 lbs. around my waist…

-Hugh, NY

More Comfortable

Thanks.

-Joel, VT

Can Run Off the Bike

The Serottas are awesome. I raced on mine a few weeks ago and Liz races this next weekend. We’ve been putting miles on ‘em and everything feels great — my new position is excellent.   I can actually run off the bike!!!

-Ted, CT

Unmatched Professionalism, Expertise, Attention to Detail

Just wanted to give you an update on the AWESOME new bike. I took it out for a gentle spin down to Granville back on Saturday then a longer ride down to Pittsfield and back on Monday. First impressions
- the bike is F-A-S-T. It feels great in the aero bars and extremely comfortable on 40mph descents – no wobbles or anything. The Zipp wheels and the Elite frame made for a smooth ride even on the cracked pavement of route 100. The shifting is incredibly smooth and precise and has a nice positive sounding click and no slippage .

Thanks again.

-Paul, NYC

Go to Fit Werx

I absolutely love the bike!!!  What a huge difference from my old bike!  I am so grateful to you for your help.  The service that you provided was top notch and I would urge anyone who is thinking of buying a bike to go to Fit Werx.  Thanks again!
-Liz, MA

Great and Comfortable Ride

Just wanted to give you some feedback on the ride (Elite T-Class).  I have ridden in one race, and many short training rides, and long training rides. The bike is very light and it is very responsive.  Whenever I want to change pace with a burst of speed the bike does not fight you.  The bike climbs better than any other bike I have ridden.  It gives me a very comfortable ride.  I don’t feel sore or uncomfortable after a 3 to 4 hour ride. I think a lot of the comfort has to do with the frame and especially the fork.  Overall a great ride and most importantly a very comfortable ride.  I am very pleased with the bike.

-Mike, MA

Great

Just wanted to let you guys know that I took the new bike out for a nice 340 mile weekend.  It was GREAT!  I brought Allen wrenches with me in case I needed to tweak anything, but the fit was so perfect that the only thing I needed to do was tighten the mount for the SRM display.

-Joe, NY

No Back Pain

This past weekend was our team spring training camp and my first true test of Maxine (Janice’s Legend ST).  Maxine is amazing.  I rode 52 miles on Friday and was on the aerobars almost the entire time with no back pain!!  I did the same ride Saturday and again had no back pain.  While Maxine didn’t turn me into the world’s greatest climber (13% grade hills still suck and I’m still slow on them) she wowed me (and everyone I was riding with) on the downhills.  On one moderate (maybe 3%) downhill I hit 42mph – what a high!!

Thank you so much for everything you did to get me the perfect bike.

-Janice, MA

Like a Part of My Body

Thank you all for making last Thursday a fun day.  I took Maxine (Janice’s new Legend ST) on her maiden ride yesterday and I love her!!  She feels like a part of my body already.

-Janice, MA

Felt the Difference Immediately

I felt the difference immediately!  The other night I rode on my aero bars for 6 straight miles.  Before this fit I was lucky to get 1/2 mile before my back gave out.  My speed has improved and my comfort is definitely better.

-Jim, VT

Very Fast

I still love my bike (P2K).  It is very fast…just let it fly.  This bike took some getting used to (as) I can ride at last year’s race pace as training.  So I am not familiar with this type of speed…

-Jason, MA

More Comfortable Than My Couch

Just returned from an awesome ride (hence the subject line).  I feel more comfortable on this bike than I do my couch.  No problems climbing, descending or ripping on the flats. Thank you so much for recommending the T-Class for me. I could not be happier.  Florida here I come!

-Bob, CT

Improved Technique

Thank you so much for the appointment yesterday!  It was so nice to meet you both and I learned so much from talking with you.  In particular today I was thinking that I feel that I have a much better understanding of my knee injury and the cause of it from talking to Sarah about it, which makes me more motivated to get going on my PT and take care of it.  Also, while out riding today I was thinking of what Ian explained about using all of the muscle groups in your legs when pedaling ( and being on the stationary bike and seeing the computer screen).  When I was mindful of that while pedaling, I felt a huge difference!

I learned so much yesterday but those were a couple of things that stood out in my mind.  Thanks again for your expertise in helping me with such an important purchase!

-Liz, MA

No Tears and Ready for a Swim

I’m dropping a quick note to tell you I love my bike!  I finally got a chance to ride for 40 minutes last night on the trainer.  The seat never talked to me once and I felt no strain in my shoulders and arms.  Last year I would have been in tears after that ride.  Last night I was ready to go for a swim.   How cool is that?      Thanks again!

-Louise, NH

Fits Like a Glove

(The Calfee Luna) you shipped me went together without a hitch.  I had my first ride yesterday (although it was on the trainer) of an hour and it fits like a glove (well at least a glove that fits well which is always hard for me to find but that is another story).  Thanks.

-Tim, NY

Exceeded Expectations

Talk about exceeding expectations: I can now die a happy man. The Legend ST seems to handle so much better than I’m used to and accelerates nicely… It was a pleasure dealing with you both; I thank you and wish you continued success.

-Doug, MA

Surpassed Expectations

Just wanted to send a quick note of thanks for Sunday.  As I said before I left, you far surpassed my expectations. Sarah, your expertise with the shoe fit made quite a difference and should over the long hall. I am already looking for a similar shoe for my mountain bike.

Ian, I have never met anyone more thorough than you.  Your explanation of each detail of the bike fit was well thought-out.  I felt like I was being dissected which I think perfectly explains what you do.

Thanks again for your hospitality and professionalism.  I will definitely recommend a Trip to Fit Werx for anyone looking for the proper advice from real bike/triathlon people.

-Bob, CT

Mac Daddy of Bike Fits

Vermont was great.   Ian knows his stuff.  I have had four ‘professional’ bike fits and bar-none Fit Werx is the Mac Daddy of bike fits.  Case-in-point, he was the only one who noticed that my left leg spins shorter than my right leg – even though my legs are the same length (the problem arises from an old hamstring injury). Just this little nugget of information gives me something to try to correct.

-John, GA

Comfortable and Fast

Just wanted to drop you a note of thanks.  (I) finally had a chance to ride the new bike outside this weekend as temps got into the 50′s,  went out for about an hour and 20min and everything felt comfortable and fast.  Thanks for all your hard work.  Thanks Again

-Devin, MA

The Bike, the Fit, The Ride…Great

Well, it was a nice sunny day here in Metro Boston today with the temps in the mid 30s and I could not resist getting the Legend out onto the road. It was great. The bike, the fit, the ride were all great. For the first time out this season I did not push things, but spent close to an hour in the saddle. I am looking to many more hours and miles with the Legend.  Another very satisfied customer.

-Larry, MA

Dream Bike

Thank you so much for the bike fit on Sunday – it was great to finally meet you both and a great experience to get properly fit for my new dream bike! I was amazed how comfortable my position felt on the fit cycle so can’t wait to try out the real thing.

-Paul, MA

Attention to Detail

I’ve been on the rollers for an hour max so far, and everything feels really good-I can’t wait to get out on the road.  Eventually I’ll change the saddle, but haven’t done that yet.   I enjoyed meeting you and Sarah and appreciate your attention to details.  Its tough to find someone who knows how to fit a bike.  Thanks, thanks, thanks!!!

-Lydia, MA

Pain Free

I just wanted to drop you a quick (long overdue) note of thanks.  I had a great season, in large part due to the services you provided me with.  My hard work at training wouldn’t have been possible without the fit changes you made for me.  I was able to complete multiple triathlons, a century ride, and lots of other things in between pain free and without the multiple areas of discomfort that I was dealing with prior to visiting your shop.  I’ve been preaching to the world about you guys and the valuable expertise that you provide.  Thanks again.

-Debbie, NH

Best in Comfort and Performance

The tri season went great for us both. We entered three triathlons and the bikes and services you offered were the best and we can’t thank you enough. It really made the difference with the advice and services you both provided. I recommend your services all the time to friends and only hope they come to you for the best in comfort and performance….I hear alot of stories of people having all kinds of discomfort while on their bikes, we bypassed all that by coming to see you both.

-Michael and Diane, MA

Comfortable and Powerful

I have taken several rides both outside and the windtrainer, and both the new position and footbeds are working out excellently!  Will take time to adjust to my biggest change (distance from saddle to aero bars) as well as drop in top of saddle to armpad…..but already feel comfortable and more powerful in the position.

-Bruce, NH

No Numbness

I went for a 35 mile ride on Sunday and had no numbness in the usual places.  I felt very comfortable on the bike and am please I decided to go to a custom frame.  You fulfilled my requests to determine what would fit and to put me on a bicycle that does fit.  Thanks

-David, CT

Improvements in All Positions

The new position including the footbeds felt very comfortable.  I rode just over 50 miles with quite a bit of elevation and noticed a significant impovement in all the positions including climbing (in-and-out of the saddle.)  The new saddle really helped to stabilize my hips.  I’m convinced your recommendations and measurements are going to make a huge difference in preparation for Placid.

-Dustin, MA

Improved Time and Comfort

I wanted to report back how much I have benefited from my fitting.  I repeated Tupper Lake Tinman this year.  The only thing I changed on my bike was the fitting.  I’m happy to say that I improved my bike time by an hour!!!   No only my time, but my comfort level has improved.  Thanks to Fit Werx!  I’ve told everyone!!!

-Jennifer, MA

More Efficient Pedal Stroke

Thanks for taking time with me Saturday for my fitting.  I am wholly impressed with FitWerx and your knowledge and expertise.  I got out for a quick spin Saturday afternoon, and things were great.  Today I did 3+ hours…  My teammates noticed that my pedal stroke was more efficient as I was able to drop my heel more, and I was also able to concentrate on a more efficient stroke.  So, I am very pleased with my fitting.

-Steve, NH

Comfortable Aero

I rode the Softride today for 79 km.  I was in the aerobars constantly without any effort and no back pain!  This is a truly remarkable change for me. I suspect much is the fitbut maybe some is the Softride technology.  I measured the Calfee and it was 6CM longer from saddle tip to center stem than the Softride!  No wonder I could not stand to be on the aerobars for more than 5 minutes!

-Peter, ON

Handles Well in the Wind

(I took the) first ride (on the new bike) Saturday and it was a pleasure. Not only was the weather perfect but the ride was splendid…Aside from being a little lower, everything felt about the same as (how we had set-up my old) Litespeed…  I felt that the handling was extremely friendly. I was using the tri spoke and disk rear just to try the whole thing out and it was windy. With the Litespeed, and the same wheels, the wind would blow me all over the road. Not so with the Elite. A little bit of leaning was enough to stay straight. The geometry we designed makes the steering a bit less sensitive. So when the wind gusts came I seemed not to be affected by them very much.  Also, the bike is extremely quiet. Even the disk wheel seems to be quieter for some reason.  (And) the bike has major eye appeal, especially with the tri spoke and disk.  So, I guess that makes me a satisfied customer…

-Brad, NH

Reach Hoods Fine

I took my spectacular new bike out for a ride this afternoon, and it was great!  i really  noticed the differences right away.  at first, i was dismayed that there was no room for my hands in the tops, but then i realized that since the bike fit properly, there was no need to have them there – I can reach the hoods just fine.  I could never do that comfortably before.  Sadly, I will be spending a lot of time on the trainer rather than outside, but hey.  At least it won’t get dirty. Thanks again.

-Amanda, MA

Faster Time

I took 52 minutes off my IM bike time at Canada this year.  I think I owe it to how comfortable I was on the bike.  Thank you.

-Janice Biederman, MA

Won My Age Group

Thanks for sending the newsletter.  It was a good reminder because I have actually been wanting to write and thank you both.  I am very happy with my Cervelo and the fit is amazing!  I ended up having a successful season and it was unbelievable to see the difference in my performance between the beginning of the summer and the end when I had my new bike.

At the beginning of Sept. I did my first half-ironman and ended up winning my age group.  I actually held my own on the bike!  I proudly wore my Fit Werx shirt and I ended up talking to a few other guys who had purchased Cervelos in this area and were not pleased with the service and fit that they had.  Thanks and I continue to recommend you to everyone I talk to.  I am trying to get my father to get up there and buy the road bike he has been wanting.  You might be seeing him!

I hope all is well in the north.  I definitely miss leaf peeping season!  Alisa just cracked open the maple syrup and she sends her thanks as well!

My best.

-Brennan Barnard, PA

8th at Double Iron Ultratriathlon World Championship

Just want to say Hi. I had a blast on your fitted bike during the Double Iron Ultratriathlon World Championship last month. I came in 8th overall in a competitive field that included current World Record holders and past World Champions. Very, very happy to end my season in such high note. Thanks for helping.

-Harn Wei Kua, MA

Best Racing Times Ever

Thanks for the newsletter! Had a great, pain-free season thanks to you- best racing times ever!  Did the Ascutney 50 in the rain a couple of weeks ago and Mt. Washington in the wind.  A  good time was had by all. You fit my friend, Cheryl Appe, this summer and she is like a different rider: before she really couldn’t ride well at all, and now she is on fire, way to go!  I will always recommend you to people, you provide a very valuable service!  Happy Fall-

-Kim Dannies

Rapid Response and Extreme Comfort

I just wanted to let you know I was able to get out on my (new) dream bike this week for an hour or so test ride, and was so extraordinarily delighted!  It was just amazing!  The rapid response and extreme comfort were more impressive than I had imagined…  Everything felt great in terms of size-soooo much more managable than any other bike I have ever been on.  The saddle and aerobars felt great!  All in all, a very positive review!  Thank you for making my dream come true!
Robin, MA

Satisfied

I’m back from a long trip to Tokyo safely!  Thank you very much for all your kindness.  I am totally satisfied with my bike fitting.  I feel so good on my bike now!  I am looking foward to see you and the beautiful mountains of Waitsfield, again!  Thank you very much,

-Hitomi Jin, Tokyo, Japan

Pain Free Season

(I) had a great, pain-free season thanks to you- best racing times ever!  Did the Ascutney 50 in the rain a couple of weeks ago and Mt. washington in the wind, good time was had by all. You (also) fit my friend, this summer and she is like a different rider and now she is on fire, way to go!  I will always recommend you to people, you provide a very valuable service!

Feel like a Pro

You rock!!!  I feel like a pro on my bike now (or am getting closer).  Yesterday I climbed Bolton, just once to start ramping intensity slowly, and i put down a new best by over 30 seconds.  I haven’t done any LT work in over 2 weeks and I basically took last week off of the bike, so the improved performance can only be attributed to the changes made Wednesday night.  Also, my ankle feels great.  It feels so awesome to ride my bike.  So I am fired up.  The greatest challenge will be to not ride too much or too hard.  Thanks!!!!!

-Josh, Cat 2 racer, VT

Best  Overall Finish

OK, so I’ve been meaning to send you guys an update for weeks now but the truth is, I’ve only gotten off my bike to eat and sleep…..it is AMAZING and my new best friend…I won’t let anyone near it and it’s not allowed to ride on the roof because it might get dirty or hurt or (EEK) stolen…truly, it is the most amazing feeling to ride for hours and not feel sore or have aches or neck cricks or sleepy, numb toes (the shoes are GREAT too.)  I had a pretty easy transition to the clipless pedals and have been really happy with the feel of being clipped in.

The big news is that I had my last race this past Saturday down in Rhode Island and I kicked butt, espeically on the bike…I was only 3 minutes off the bike time of the fastest woman (I rode a 35:20 for 12 miles), 78th on the bike overall – the course was 3 repeats of a four mile loop and I actually passed one person twice!  I ended up 175th out of 240 overall – 65 whole bodies behind me…a big feat when you consider there were only 3 or 4 folks behind me at my first race last summer.  My swim times have been consistently improving on my masters team too and I really think it’s in large part because my quads and hamstrings are stronger from biking so much…it’s so comfortable and so much more fun than my old bike.  I’m in love….

SO worth the wait…I REALLY appreciate all that you guys did to get me fitted up and ready to go…I’ll probably come see you some time this winter for a tune-up but you can bet I’ll be riding until the first flakes fly this fall…and I’ll definitely be sending folks your way so don’t go anywhere!!!

Thanks again and Happy Fall,:)

-Holly, NH

Impressed by Attention, Hospitality, Shop, and Philosophy

I was in town for the GMSR over Labor Day and stopped by your shop for a quick browse…I was very impressed by the layout of the shop, the quality products you stand behind, and most of all by your attention and hospitality. I like your philosophy on cycling fit and performance, one that few people present as their primary function.  I live in the Dallas- Fort Worth area, home of some very large bike shops (including the one which literally supported Lance during his ”terrible teen”- read: arrogant- years), but few compare to the welcome professionalism you project.  I spent a good bit of time on my way out of town reading your brochure, a nice presentation indeed!

Next year I will again take on the GMSR (and plan on doing considerably better, that is if I can move to a more mountainous region by then!), and will be sure to stop by.  Best regards,

-Chris, TX

Best Combo of Product and Professional Fit

If you are a serious triathlete or cyclist and you are looking for the best combination of product and professional bike fit available, Fit Werx is the place!  Not only are they by far the best in the New England area, but quite possibly the best in the country…no BS!  I have been competing in tri for about 10 years now and recently went through the search for the combination of best available product and fit analysis available for a new tri bike.  After months of disappointing visits to local bike shops in the Boston area, meeting “professionals” claiming to be “fit experts”, I was ready to fly to San Diego with the goal of returning with a new bike.  Just before I was to leave, I learned of Ian and Sarah, and although I was skeptical of them being yet another bike shop using “professional fitting” as a marketing scheme, they seemed to be the real deal from the initial phone and email contact I had with them.  THEY ARE THE REAL DEAL!!.  I spent the day with them in Vermont with Ian working his measuring instruments on me like a mathematician, his size cycle with me on it like he has a PhD in physics, and his computer analyzing my pedal stroke and heart rate like a doctor.  The result?  I have truly the best combination of material and product for my specific triathlon needs along with the very best fit available in the marketplace, anywhere!  San Diegans could benefit from a flight to Vermont….

Comfortable

I just wanted to drop you a short note of thanks.  I never thought I would be as comfortable on my bike as I was throughout the summer.  The difference before and after was remarkable after working with you.  The Lake Placid Ironman was great except for the weather and the bike was comfortable the whole time.  I did a bunch of shorter races and finished up my season a couple of weeks ago with a second overall at the Sharon triathlon.  Thanks for all your help back in May – it made a big difference.  I am now thinking about a custom frame or maybe a stock frame that is better suited to my dimensions for next season.  Thanks again.

-Devin, MA

Faster Time

We had the District TT Championship this past weekend, and using the position you designed for me on a converted road bike, my time was over 2 minutes faster than previous efforts… and my relative position among my peers changed from bottom 1/3rd to #3 (20 seconds out of #1)… something changed, no doubt the position was a big part of it.   Thanks for all your help…

-Bill, DE

Send My Athletes to FitWerx

There are two things that I noticed right away about my new position on both my road racing bike and my TT bike – more power, and a much more comfortable position.  I leave my TT bike on my CompuTrainer all winter, and prior to the bike fit, I was very uncomfortable in the aero position after about 15 or 20 minutes.  All that changed after my bike fit with Fitwerx, as I was able to *comfortably* stay in the aero position for 2-3 hours.  That alone would make me a very satisfied customer, but I also notice that my power output also went up, and my legs just felt better when riding.  For those familiar with the CompuTrainer, my spin scan also went up by about 10 points in the aero position, which is a huge improvement.  I also used to regularly get pain in my lower back from riding…that is gone too!  I wish that Fitwerx was around years ago when I first started riding!

Based on the extremely positive benefits that I experienced, I started sending my athletes up to Fit Werx for their fitting and equipment needs.  I check in with each athlete to see what changes were made, and how they feel in their new position.  Every single athlete that I have sent up to see Fit Werx has been extremely pleased with the results.  As a coach, this has helped me help my athletes – proper positioning and fit on a bike is crucial to improving performance and minimizing biomechanical stress.  I typically ask a new athlete who did their bike fit when we first start working together, and attending a fitting session is one of the first things that I will suggest that an athlete do to improve their performance and comfort on the bike.

Efficiency and Fluidity

The new shoes make a huge difference and I am much more comfortable on the bike. I thought the saddle would be a bit on the firm side, but I hardly notice it’s there. My position is great and the hand numbness has completely disappeared!! No neck and shoulder pain to speak of, come to think of it. I got out for a 40 mile ride and felt much
more efficient and fluid. I also felt physically better – 20 miles felt like 10, 30 miles felt like 20, etc. Oh, and the increased average pace with no extra effot… It was really great, and has been
wonderful so far. While I will still adamently insist that I am a runner first, I think this could be the boost that I need to push the running (and all of its persistent injuries) to the back and declare cycling as “my sport.”  Thanks so much,

-Meaghan, NH

Took All My Worries Away

“Just a note to say “THANK YOU” for taking the time to work on my bike. You took all my worries away.”

-Jamie, NH

Feel Like a Kid Again

“I think of your shop and what both of you have done for me and I feel like I’m a kid again racing in my neighborhood. You’ve got me as a customer.”

-Tom Trytek, ME

The Right Fit

“I would liken today’s ride to a person who is a size ten finding out that for the past three years they have been wearing size nine shoes and suddenly being given a pair of size tens.  On a 2.5 hour ride , I rode in the aero position for 2 hours 10 minutes because it was by far the most comfortable I have ever been on a bike.  On a course that I have ridden three times for 2.5 hours each time, I usually go 42 or 43 miles.  Today I went 48.5 miles in the same amount of time with far less effort than ever before.  THANKS.”

-Fred, NH

Picture-Perfect Triathlon Bike Position

“I just had to let you know that I qualified for IM Canada over the weekend at Muskoka!!!  I was 4th in my age group, and my bike split was by far my strongest split.  The P3 had yet another dominating performance.  I have to tell you guys that the fit has made all the difference in the world.  I display the FitWerx sticker proudly on the bike!  You will be getting some international exposure for sure at Penticton come August!

Also, I did a duathlon in NH last weekend for a tune-up to Muskoka and placed 2nd overall, posting the fastest overall bike split.  The kicker was that the race winner (who passed me with 1.5 miles to go on the 2nd run- I didn’t know I was in the lead at that point  :( . . .) approached me after the race and commented that as I blew past him on the bike course, I looked like I was in the picture-perfect triathlon position on the bike.  If others can tell how well I am fit to the bike just by looking at me, that’s a big testament to the work you do.  Keep up the good work!”

-Bill, CT

Better and Stronger

“I have been meaning to email you to thank you for the bike fit!!!  It has been amazing… my back pain had immediately stopped and I have been feeling much better & stronger on the bike!  Also, it was very enjoyable to spend the day with you two!!!  You have very good energy and I enjoy meeting COOL people!   Many, many thanks for all of your help!!!  I hope to see you at the races!!!!!!!”

Extremely Knowledgeable and Personalized Service

“Have you been thinking…’it’s time for a new bike.’  Or maybe,  ‘I  just don’t feel right when I’m in my tri bars for any length of time.’ …  I don’t know about you, but buying a bike is sort of like buying a new car.  It can be stressful, not to mention confusing.  You’re not sure what to get, the choices are overwhelming, everyone is giving you their own advice on what they have and what not to get, and as you’re standing there listening to some salesman, you’re thinking.. ‘does this guy really know what he’s talking about and is he looking out for my own best interests?’

…Recently (a friend of mine) and I decided that it was time to upgrade our bikes. We both own bikes that were purchased off the rack from bike shops and then subsequently fitted to us as best they could.  After a while, you realize changing stems and bars several times to try and configure a bike to you is really not the ideal way to get a bike that is going to be the best for you whether for comfort or performance reasons.  After doing some research, we found … Fit Werx.  After a few e-mails and reading through their very informative website, we set up appointments for bike fittings and made the trek up to Vt…

As for Ian and Sarah, they are not only extremely knowledgeable about the cycling industry(see their fit qualifications and experience on the website), but they give you detailed personalized service that is top notch.  Never will you feel intimidated or  uncomfortable about asking any questions or addressing any problems you may have whether over the phone or through e-mail… Flip through some of your most recent issues of Triathlete Magazine and you will see Ian answering questions in the tech support column.“

True Love

“I rode tonight. And WOW!  Is love too strong an emotion…..I mean TRUE LOVE…..OK, OK.  I know it’s just a bike, but MY GOD!  WOW.  I JUST LOVE IT!!!!!   Being a swimmer by nature, I’ve always been jammed up about the bike.  My least favorite of the 3 for sure, but I think that is all about to change.  I really love it!”

-Dede, MA

Fit is Comfortable

“Thanks again for all your help and advice with the new bike and the upcoming tri season.  I’ve ridden the bike 3 times now (would’ve been more if it weren’t for the (poor)weather), and I LOVE it!  Fit is comfortable, everything works great.”

-Steve, MA

Phenomenal

“I wanted to wait to ensure the phenomenal differences in my speed and overall form this past week were not in fact a psychosomatic reaction to the fit. Well, nearly a week’s passed I’m pleased to be able to report that the new position seems to be working out brilliantly. The day after my fit, I went out for a 90 minute zone 2 ride and completed the workout at an average speed of 20.6mph — I was even two heartbeats below the upper limit of my zone 2 range. I have never done an aerobic ride at that speed — nowhere even near that speed! On Thursday, I had a points race at NHIS and finished second in points and second on the finish line — my best night ever at the track. As I write, I am just off a 65 mile ride today and am feeling fabulous, hardly any of the neck stiffness that I had been having a problem with exists.”

-Matthew, NH

More Comfortable in Aero

“…I am definitely a lot more comfortable now in the aero position. Proof of the improved position would be the outcome at the St. Croix sprint triathlon in the Virgin Islands earlier this month. I had the fifth fastest bike split overall, and if it wasn’t for the bumpy roads it probably would have been a little faster still… Aside from a great start into this year’s season, I am just really enjoying my bike now! Thanks again. I wasn’t convinced initially that the bike fit would really make that much of a difference.”

-Silke, CT

Perfect Fit

“I wanted to ride my new bike for a sufficient time before I reported what my thoughts were.  Since my very first ride I have enjoyed the Serotta. The fit is perfect, I am comfortable in the aero position throughout the entire ride, regardless of the distance of the ride.  I am also getting off the bike much fresher for the run.  The titanium frame was worth the extra money.  The ride is light, smooth, and great at absorbing shock.  I am already riding longer and faster.  Thanks for the great service.  I am spreading the word with my triathlon friends.  Take care and I look forward to seeing you at some races this summer.”

-Michael, MA

Rides Great

“I did 25 miles Sunday on the refitted bike and it rides great!”

-Alan, NH

Relaxed in Aero

“I had my first ride this morning and it was a very comfortable ride.  For the first time, when I got into the aerobars, I felt relaxed.  Excellent job in fitting me.  I should have done this a long time ago.”

-Fred, NH

Dialed Perfectly

“You have the bike dialed in perfectly!  It felt great!  The big question now is how quickly I adjust to the new position on long rides but I don’t think it will take much adjustment period.

I am amazed at how quiet the bike rides.  Is that the Dura Ace or Fit Werx’s expert craftsmanship?  Thank you for doing such a good job putting the bike together and marking it so an anti-mechanic such as myself could put it together easily…  Thanks again!  Very pleased customer.”

-Jim, WA

Feel Much Better

“…So far, so good.  I’ve done four rides (none big, anywhere from 12-25 miles).  I feel MUCH better on the bike.  Besides feeling much more comfortable, moving my feet in has definitely given me more power…My knee feels much more stable while pedaling (before the adjustment my right knee had a tendency to “stray” out at the top of the pedal stroke, this has been eliminated). “

-Kevin, NY

Very Comfortable

“Thank you very much for all the time you spent with us on Saturday! It was really great and my bike feels very comfortable, thanks again.”

-Alex, NH

Incredibly Comfortable

“…I just wanted to let you know that the roads finally dried out this weekend and I rode my bike, in aero position, for close to 5 hours and was INCREDIBLY comfortable.  I spent the entire time in the aero bars, which I never would have thought possible.  In fact, I was far more comfortable than I had been in my old road bike position, when I would get neck/upper-back pain after 3 or 4 hours and my hands would go numb periodically.  Furthermore, I actually felt far safer speeding down hills than I used to in my road bike position!  Even better, I felt like I had a lot of power in the new position and my shoes (with custom foot-beds) were great as well.  So thank you again.”

-Ali, MA

Less Stressful

“This evening I had the opportunity to ride my new setup on my Serotta. The ride was very comfortable and less stressful. It was great. I am now looking forward to many very enjoyable miles of riding this year.  Thank you.”

-Larry, MA

Smoked Competition

“Just wanted to say thanks for all the great work you did with Andrea and I on our bikes. I have rode both my road and TT bike and it is an amazing difference.   Foolishly, I hopped on my TT bike this Sunday for a 75 miler. Did I happen to mention it was my first time on it since FIRM-MAN ’02? I thought I was going to be an absolute wreck. Guess again. I never felt better on it then this weekend! Amazing. As you said Ian, taking out the head spacers increased the stiffness dramatically. The ability to evenly accelerate and load the pedals is much easier in the new position too. I found myself sprinting for a town line on my TT bike. (sad but true) The worst thing is that the new position was so comfortable I never got out of my aero position and I still smoked’em! That’s either a good testiment to your work and my legs or an insult to the people I was sprinting against. I’ll take the former. I didn’t win ‘sprints’ on my TT bike last year!

As for my road bike it was also great and I look forward to the real test on the club ride. More news to follow.    Andrea was very happy with the adjustments to her bike and is gleefully waiting for your’s and Sarah’s call to say that her new Serrotta TT bike is there and ready to ship. I guess her new bike becomes the Big Kahuna in the stable. We are sure that she will get years of enjoyment from it. Of course if she starts beating my ass all over town (trust me, she will) I may need to come and buy a new bike for myself too! ;)   Hope all is well and thanks so much.”

-Matt and Andrea, Springfield, MA

Felt So Right

“WOW!!!!!  I went out yesterday.  After looking at my bike in the closet for a week, I was anxious to get out.  As soon as I got on the bike, I realized what it’s like to ride a bike that is custom made for my body.  It felt so different, and so right.  I did a 33 mile ride, figuring out the new gear ratio and the gear shifting on the way…I cringed whenever I went through a puddle.  And when I got home, I cleaned off the bike – something I have never done before!  It’s a beautiful bike and I’m glad you guys started your business in the area.”

-Larry, VT

Impressed with Know How

“I put my bike in the CompuTrainer and rode in the aero position for about 70 minutes on Sunday morning. I was very comfortable and was surprised to see my spin scan and power output looking quite good.  I’m looking forward to getting out on the road. However, with the CompuTrainer I feel that I am still getting high quality training.

I was very impressed with your know-how. I have very high confidence that we are on the money with the fit. Also, your shop is very impressive and well set up. Those of us who have visited you wish you were located a bit closer.”

-Brad, NH

Improved Cycling Ability and Enjoyment

“(I) love the bike.  You really made all of it come together perfectly.  I guess from your perspective, just another satisfied customer, but from mine, you substantially improved my cycling ability and enjoyment.”

-Kent, MA

You Love The Work You Do

“I was extremely pleased with the work you have done for me. I thought you were very competent and extremely professional.  I can tell that you love the work you do and that you care very much for your custumers. I’ve been sharing my experience on Thursday with a lot of my cycling and non-cycling friends and told them how impressed I was with your work.”

-Marielle, VT

Positioning Great

“I have been on the bike a few times and so far the positioning is great. I am much more comfortable and I am not as stiff when I get off the bike. I can’t wait to go on a long ride.”

“I spent about an hour in the aero position on my first ride this week, which hasn’t happened in a long long time.  Thanks for the comfort.”

-Bill, MA

Better Than Ever

“I rode my road bike this morning. It was AWESOME; very different and much more comfortable.
Thanks again, my bike feels better than ever!”

-Ed, MA

Every Cyclist in New England Should Be Fit By Ian.

“I am a very competitive age group marathon runner. In fact, I have placed 3rd in all the major races I have run this year since turning 50, distances of 5 miles and up. I have a right ankle that greatly over pronates and I can only run in a few motion control shoes. Failure to support my ankle results in stretched Achilles tendons, torn muscles, and rehab.
I started to train for a triathlon last summer. I read all the self coaching books on biking, as well as rode with many competitive bikers in the area. Over the course of 5 months of training, I set up the bike following all the established guide lines. One of the things I tried to work on was my right heel moving in and out as I rode. I estimate my right heel moved 5/16 ” during the rotation of the pedal. I heard all the horror stories of what can happen if the pedals are not set up right, or the clips too tight.
Nothing prepared me for the ride I took 2 days ago since visiting your shop and being fit to my bike, as well as receiving those wonderful footbeds you made for me!  I watched in amazement as my heels remained in exactly the same vertical plane as I cranked. This was only possible because of the way the cleats and insole were set up. The other amazing revelation was I could stand up on the pedals for more than a minute without having muscle spasms!!   This is because of the arch support provided by those wonderful inserts and new SIDI shoes.
I blew out both the right and left calf muscle this fall and had to seek therapy. We are now convinced that it was caused by my poor shoe/pedal set up.
My advice for any serious triathlete is if you really know what kind of shoe you should run in and it is a cushioned shoe, you can wear most shoes on the bike.  But you should  get fitted. If you run in stability shoes see Ian for the right shoe. If you need orthotics or motion control shoes, do NOT ride a bike without being fit to orthotics and new shoes by Ian!
I have developed a slight elbow pain since riding a trainer this winter. Because of the bike fitting I now know that the pain is caused by a much too wide set of bars spreading my arms and locking the elbow joint. This is now fixed.
I am convinced that it is much less expensive to purchase a performance bike from you all and get it right the first time, instead of purchasing a good bike elsewhere and then modifying it to fit you later. I am telling everyone I know of your skills and great shop! My sincere thanks.
I have competed at the highest levels in several sports over the years, and I can say it is very rare to meet a professional of Ian’s stature and knowledge in any sport.  Every cyclist in New England should be fit to their bike by Ian.”

-Jim Kyle, NH

Great Foot Beds

“The foot beds have been working great thus far.  I haven’t been cycling much (twice a week for about an hour each ride), but they have been super when I have used them.  Thanks again for working with me and thanks for introducing us to the local pizza joint.  Have a great holiday season.”

-Ryan Bolton, Olympian

Made It The Right Bike For Me

“…While I have your ear, let me thank you for setting me up with ‘Bertha’ (my Softride).  Due to the date that I bought it, I have not had a chance to get it on the road a whole lot.  However, it is up on my trainer, taking up much of the free space in my one room studio, and I am spending quite a bit of time on it this winter.  I already can tell that it has made me smarter, wittier, better looking and wealthier.  Well, maybe not wealthier.    It really is incredibly comfortable, and being on the trainer has been a great opportunity to work on technique.  The feedback from the beam allows me to feel when I’ve got my pedal stroke right.  I can’t wait to corner it in the spring!  Softride is a great bike in general, but working with you made it the right bike for me and made me happy about spending the money.  Thank you so much.”

-Sean, ME

Impressed

“Just wanted to say how impressed I was with what you guys have going on up there, and to say thanks again!  I have already raved to all my teamates about the fitting via email, and you will be getting some calls…”

-Ben, Cat 1, VT

Comfortable, Sustainable, and Powerful.

“I just wanted to thank you both for the superb job and unbelievable effort in making my bike as comfortable as possible.  Due to weather and my schedule, I have only been out on the road once with it for about 40 miles (but several hours on the trainer with it) in the past week.  It is a completely different feel, but more comfortable, sustainable, and powerful.  It makes a huge difference.  I can’t wait to have you help me with a Serotta one of these days.  I greatly appreciate it, and hope all is well up there.
…I love the footbeds.  Great…that is the only word for them.  Talk to you guys later.”

-Kent, MA

Work of Art

The new bike is amazing… I surely will not be able to live up to the capabilities of the machine if I keep working full time. Do you know anyone looking to sponsor an unproven triathlete? I didn’t think so. But, the bike is a work of art as far as I’m concerned. I have been bragging about it to anyone who will listen. Thanks for the help in making it happen.

-Ben, CT

Measured In Aerobar….Huge Difference

I just wanted to say thanks for your attention to detail and your wonderful hospitality!  Galloway was such a big help!  I was very impressed with your attention to details and your knowledge!  I was a bit skeptical about being measured in the aerobar postion but Will (coach) was very glad that I did!  He said I would be more comfortable in that postition when my bike fit me and I would see a huge difference in comfort and speed.  He said that is the position he wanted me to train and race in most of the time,  but because that postion was uncomfortable and a bit shaky I was hesitant to ride in and race on the aerobars.  You guys were terrific!  I will let you know how things go.  Thanks again!

-Linda, MA

Comfortable

I tried out the bike today with the new dimensions and was very comfortable.  No neck strain and an overall comfortable feel to the bike.  Just wanted to say “thank you”.

-Peter, NH

New Crankset

Thanks so much for all your expertise.  I really love my Serotta Colorado III.  The new crankset appears to have solved any problems the Ultegra crankset presented.  Thanks again.  I’m sure we’ll be in touch.

-John, CT

Beginner Friendly

Beginner friendly -

Thank You for the great experience…  Thanks for all the help.  Very beginner friendly.  Very knowledgeable.  Very friendly.  Every question that I asked had an answer with a thorough explanation.  You guys were great.  Thanks.

-Ken, NH

Excited

Thanks a ton for the fit yesterday; I’m real excited about the changes
we made and the changes it hopefully brings (efficiency, comfort,
etc.).  I’ll keep you informed about the positioning and how I feel on
the hills.

-Patrick, VT

Great Fit in Aerobars

I have dialed my Litespeed Blade as close to your specs as I can and it is GREAT.  After I got it dialed in Sat. afternoon we went for a 1:20 ride for 25 miles on Sunday and I was in the aerobars the whole time. What a GREAT fit.  Your clinic has helped me in fitting customers and friends also.

-Bob (triathlete and bike shop employee), NH

Informative

Wow.  Thank you very much for your time.  I have never had someone more informative help me with any thing related to cycling.

-Patrick, NV

Handles Well and Fast

Love, love, love Blue (Ellen’s P2K).  I’ve only been on it a couple of times, but know I make the right choice having you put everything together, thank you so much.  I did the Formula 1 duathlon, came in second in my age group, which is much better than I expected… The bike handles magnificently through the corners, and flys on the downhills and flats!!!!!

-Ellen, MA

Stem and Cleat

Hello Ian and Sarah! Thanks for taking good care of Dawn. She has noticed a big difference with the increased stem height and cleat adjustment!

-Larry, VT

Comfort and Power

My stay in Vermont was great.  I lucked out and got some great riding weather.  We did end up riding over the notch on Saturday morning and the fit felt great.  I had no back pain and I seemed to be getting more power out of each pedal stroke.  I hope to get back on the bike again today and compare my riding on the loops I normally do here at home…  Thanks so much for making me feel so comfortable when I visited your shop.

-Anne, MA

Best Help and Service

I really can’t express how great it is to be working with you
and Sarah on this and knowing you’re really looking out for my best interest.  You don’t usually find that these days! I could never
forget what you’ve both gone through to help me out. I’m glad I chose you to work with and don’t believe I would have gotten this kind of help and service anywhere else.  Again, you two have been great and I’m looking forward to seeing you from time to time when I get up that way again, it’s such a great place to ride!

-Rick, MA

Love Riding

The bike is great, I love riding it!  Thanks again.

-Stefan, MA

Custom Footbeds Solve Problem – “The footbeds are really great! I went on a 40 mile ride today. What I can’t get over-my Achilles tendons are not sore. I’ve been battling tendonitis in both Achilles and they don’t hurt tonight! Plus my shoes feel like they are form fitted to my feet!” – Shelley L., road cyclist/racer, VT

Professionalism – “I wanted to thank you and Sarah for a great visit and experience. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t express in words here how professional and thorough you guys are.” – Mike S., coach and triathlete, NH

Performance Analysis a Better Value than Race Wheels – “If the site accepts postings, I would like to add a note on Fit Werx :
- Very thorough process: I was there from 10 am to 3 pm.
- The footbed prep and shoe adjustments, which I did not have any thought of needing, has completely smoothed my pedal stroke (no pops or wiggles during the rotation).
- My setup is now quantitatively defined in terms of proper position vs. ergonomics vs power output. I have set up the new bike, and the feel is good. Very different than my old settings.
- I am converting my Softride to these numbers. Amazing how far off I was – the value of the session, I believe, is that you are placed in a verified position arrived upon by close measurements and testing. Last season, I was chasing position all season. I believe I made a mess of my position, and likely increased my back issues rather than lessening the strain.
- …I believe the investment is far more worthy than aero wheels or some other pricey accessories. I was throwing away 5-10% in power, and positioning myself to strain my back more.”
- Jeremiah F., triathlete, NH

“Butt Kicking” Performance Gains – “….went for 62 mile ride with a couple of my team mates and kicked their butts at 19 mph. I felt great!!! Thanks to you. I can’t believe you can be that comfortable on a bike that fits you properly. Thanks so much for all your help. I will be spreading the news to let everyone know the excellent work and the dedication you have with each individual that comes into your store. You are never going to get rid of us.” – Nancy D., top age group triathlete, MA

Great Experience – “Thank you guys. I had a great experience.” – Eric M., road cyclist and triathlete, VT
Comfortable and Efficient – “I rode fifty miles on Thursday and my arms and back have never felt better.” – Jarka D., road cyclist, NH
Not Your Average Bike Shop Experience – “Yesterday was a pretty exciting day for me. In my case a once, or possibly twice, in a lifetime experience. I usually approach bicycle shops and used car dealers with caution. I was sort of presold ahead of time, having learned on the Serotta web site that you both had undergone fitting training. Within a few minutes of entering your facility, I started to get a good feeling about it and about you both. Things that I noticed:

-Neatness of the whole facility.
-Neatness of work areas.
-The way Ian handled my original E-mail.
-The way Ian handled the fellow who wanted a triathlon bicycle tune for his daughter
-Sarah’s fitting manner.
-The way in which you responded to my original phone call, you were dealing with a customer and called back later. You did not let yourself get interrupted, stayed with client, that really resonated with me.
-Knowledge of anatomy and skeletal system.
-Use of computer technology, for fitting, components, billing, etc.
-Expert knowledge on bicycles, cycle geometry, and implications.
-Answered all questions.

As the session progressed passed the foot orthotic stage and into the fitting, I appreciated your expertise and attention to “getting it right”. Having lived with my first “custom” bicycle for over 15 years, I certainly knew what I didn’t want. And for you to do your job, it is more obvious to me now than ever, the customer has to commit to what he or she wants in terms of how and why one rides (this is the part that really gets lost in commercial bike shops or maybe they don’t really expect to see serious riders). My original intent was to get the numbers and scan the universe for a reasonable fit frame, hopefully Campy equipped etc. As the session progressed, I moved towards a decision to commit to a custom bike then and there based on what you both did and how you did it. This is not about money to me, its about value. What you are getting for your buck in real terms. I’m getting a bicycle that I really can really put some miles on that fits and I can really enjoy for many years. With that promise, I feel very confident that I made a right decision.” – Tom D., road cyclist, NH

Wishes Fit Werx was in Boston (note: we travel to Boston regularly!)- “Thank you again for all the time you spent with the measurements and calculations on my new bike. Best wishes on your shop. I know your area needs and will use your services. I wish you were here in Boston!!!!!” – Ellen R., triathlete, MA

Professional Athlete Comment – “Just wanted to let you know that the orthotics and footbeds you made for me feel great. I really feel like my pedal stroke is more efficient now. Thank you for your time.” – Kim L., professional triathlete, VT

Knowledge and Passion – “I really appreciate your thoughtful E-mails. You sound like a guy with a lot of knowledge and passion for triathlon cycling, and you sure are generous with your time.” – Ben H., triathlete, LA

Cloud 9 – “It’s all about quality, expertise and FitWerx finesse! The mini position test spin last night was just a teaser. However, it was enough for me to know the minute I clipped in that my bike is truly amazing. And I’ve yet to even tap into the benefits of having a quality racing machine specifically designed and measured for me. What a difference!!! When I got home, I had a half hour before dark so I hit the road. The best way to describe it… I felt like I was effortlessly floating through the air. She’s smooth, light and, the best part, this baby can fly! I must have been a sight – I was smiling ear to ear the whole ride. I even caught myself giggling a few times from sheer joy. I put her in for the night and looked back with a smile and said, ‘My sweet Stealth baby, we’re going to win some races!’ The weather is promising for this weekend and I can’t wait to take her out for a couple of nice long bonding rides! Signing off for now from Cloud 9.” – K.Page,  WA
“I just have to tell you I have NO PAIN from riding my bike!!! Thank you and Ian so much for the fitting! I will be sure to pass along the good news to all of my friends!” – Beth B., triathlete, MA

“I was going to get back to you today to let you know I am ecstatic!!  I went for an easy ride Friday night and felt like I was on a new bike–in the aero bars the whole time both up and down hills!!! AND NOTHING HURT!!! I felt more efficient with less effort which was verified by my heart rate staying within my zone!!  I rode a total of 140 miles this weekend and had to push on my long one Saturday and again NOTHING HURT!!! I am singing your praises with all my friends that could benefit by your service. . .Thanks a million for making my peddling hours way more tolerable.”    Lisa, NH

I would like to thank you both. It was a long day, but well worth it…last nite my training protocol was for 90 minutes on the bike. I had never went that long and was not looking forward to it. Well, I was nicely surprised with the fitting.  As far as quantifiable data, I went from 20 mph to 25.5 mph with less effert(WAS ON TRAINER SET AT 50%).  My heart rate was in the 120 area ,as opposed to the 130 area prior to your adjustments.  I had unlimited energy after an hour, I had to go 27 mph, as my heart rate went below the mininum needed for the training effort… Such a large gain in speed, reduced heart rate clearly point to a significant ,measurable benefit post FIT WERX!!!  The fitting was great…Feel free to give my email address to anyone who wants an independent opinion of your services. I will wholeheartly reccomend you.
Francis, NY

I wanted to drop you a line and let you know about the bike fit I received.  For one I thought it was fabulous and very thorough. You didn’t miss anything in regards to injuries, aches and pains or upcoming races. . . From the moment I sat on the bike I could feel how right the fit was. What a change from my old position. Up higher, more forward. I felt more powerful with less effort. Gone were the neck and shoulder pain, the numbness in my foot and the knee pain that followed a ride. Almost feels like a new bike. I can’t believe I did an Ironman in that old position.  Thanks again for the experience and I am recommending Fit Werx to everyone I talk to.

Tom, MA

The only thing wrong with the bike is I can’t stay off the damn thing!  I rode 60 yesterday and 30 today right after work and I feel like a could run a marathon.  I didn’t think there would be that much of a difference.  My riding partner was ready to die yesterday trying to keep up and I wasn’t even breaking a sweat.  Every time I turned around she was about a half mile behind.  Usually our pace is very equal and sometimes I struggle to keep up with her.  She is a spin class instructor and she trained all winter.  Needless to say she wants a new bike now…

Donny, NY

Thank you for letting me come in on such short notice last week. I was really impressed with
your knowledge about fitting, and the changes you made to my cleats and positioning (not to
mention I need to stretch just a little bit more) are going to help a lot.

Owen, MA

First ride after the fit,WOW! what a difference. I knocked off about 45 seconds on my TT loop and stayed aero the whole way.  In some cases I was even up a gear.

Ray, VT

Things are great.  The bikes are making us very happy.  Pete joined a local riding club after returning to Maryland and has ridden more in the past month than practically the last year.  He is still continuingly singing your praises.  His feet are no longer falling asleep…I’ve also been riding a lot more.  Before I was getting sore shoulders after very short rides and now I’m riding longer with no difficulties.  We both just drove cross country with our bikes on the roof (Pete to Seattle and me to Fairfield CA).  I’ve signed up for the Napa Valley Tour while I’m here.  I won’t be riding the Century quite yet, but I’m moving in the right direction.  I feel a lot more comfortable on my bike now.  As a beginner, I didn’t realize how much better things could be.
Sandi, MD
I gotta tell you, I love this bike!  Last night I rode a hilly 15.2 mile loop that I have been riding hard, fast training rides on for years.  I rode it at 21.3 avg speed which was 1:10 faster than I have ever been. My next fastest ride on it was 5 years ago!  And I wasn’t really going all out either.  I am really stunned.  I really feel comfortable on it too.

Bob, MA

“I am still as happy as when I left!  As I mentioned to you before, I had been sold on the P3 for about a year and a half but was unable to find anybody that I felt was competent enough to properly fit me on it.  You guys were just what I needed to get me comfortable enough (mentally and physically) to  finally make the purchase.  And after all that anticipation, the bike is beyond my highest expectations.  I did a 50 on it Saturday and have a few other rides as well. I really feel great on it.  I think it is going to work out great for me.  We’ll see this weekend!”   Bob J., MA

“Well, I’ve had a chance to put my newly fitted bike to the test. I am getting faster with time just as Ian had predicted. My time at the Berkshire Triathlon was good (better than usual).”  Bob A., NY

“Things are progressing right along with the P2K. I did the Sharon Tri this
past weekend (3rd tri of season) and my bike split improved tremendously.
I am realizing (and as you both mentioned) that the transition to a “true”
tri bike can take a little time.  I am doing the Hyannis Sprint II on Sept. 7th, and looking forward to
improving my bike split once again. “  Owen, MA

Thanks again for your help. I was out riding yesterday and definitely noticed the improvements. I found I was maintaining an average speed that was about 2mph faster than my long standing average! It’s hard to believe that is due to to the fit. Perhaps there are other factors at play too, but I’m not going to split hairs :) The bike is definitely feeling more like a part of me now.

Thanks again!

I am riding well- the century was a good test, as my season got started so late, and I was happy with the result…handlebars definitely improve my steering and confidence, the footbeds are breaking in nicely and the core alignment/pedal stroke is much easier to maintain with the current fit.  So, all in all, a huge success and my mind is at peace knowing we’ve covered every centimeter!

I was very satisfied with the road and mountain bike fittings.  You were able to spend the 4 hours of one-on-one attention that I needed.  You took the time to inquire about injuries, discomfort, and you did thorough body and bike measurements.  You made sure the bikes fit my body, and you did all the little things too, like moving the break levers in, and adjusting the handlebar width…. the bikes feel great!   Getting custom footbeds to keep my ankle in a more neutral and powerful position is next on my To-Do-List.

Thanks to Fit Werx I have a greater knowledge of bike-upgrades I can make.  I’m sure that an aerodynamic fitting (probably to a custom bike,) is in my future, and I know FitWerx can help me with both.   Thanks again.

I had researched tri bikes and had decided on a P3 over a year ago.  When I set out to acquire one, my enthusiasm diminished.  Local shops that carried them could not demonstrate to me that they knew what the were doing when it came to fitting me on the bike.  I considered mail order too.  But, once I clicked to the 2nd and third level pages on the web sites, hope faded there as well.  I was adamant that I would not spend the money unless I was confident that I was being set up properly and with the right components.  I had all but given up on it when I met you two after the Tupper Lake 1/2 Ironman.  In that 10 minute conversation hope returned.  The fitting, the foot beds, the component selection and the nearly daily reassurance were all fantastic.  The delivery of the bike?  Well, let’s just say I was very, very happy.  One fear remained….that my new bike with the perfect set up and individually picked components wouldn’t really make a lot of difference.  It has been a month now since I picked the bike up.  In that time I have done two 1/2 Ironman races.  Won my age group in one and took second in another.  PR bike splits in both!  Most impressive was the one this past weekend which I had also competed in last year.  My year over year improvement on the bike was 8.5 minutes!  This after a decade of consistent training and racing results!  It is unbelievable to me!  I really can’t come up with adequate superlatives for your services.  I think the results actually say it all.

Yahoo! I shaved off 12.5 minutes from my time last year on the same course!!
I have a lot more power in the foot with the footbeds, it keeps the ball of my foot stable.
Yesterday I did a tough hilly ride that used to take me almost 2 hours…I did it in 1:15!!!

This weekend I’ll do my first century of the season…  Thanks for everything!
