Fitting Services

Anyone who tells you that you can be optimally fit with just a few measurements or by punching data into a formula based computer program is either woefully uninformed or just trying to sell you something. Building a proper position takes time and requires that the details of your individual situation be considered from a scientific perspective. Our methodology is based in proven biomechanical assessment techniques that have been developed to address the specific needs of cyclists and triathletes. Physical therapists, aerodynamicists, medical doctors, exercise kineseologists, chiropractors and structural engineers are just a few of the people that are involved in the development of our fitting steps and product testing techniques. It is our goal to not only help you build your optimal riding position, but to also provide you with the insight and knowledge necessary to understand how your body functions while on the bike and how it affects the products you choose.

We are proud to offer the most complete fit and analysis services under one roof anywhere in the country. From Custom Cycling Footbeds and cant work to Performance Analysis and problem solving, we cover all the bases. Review the options below and contact us for more information or an appointment.

Existing Bike Fit:

Designed to enhance performance and comfort as best as possible on your existing bike. This fit starts with a detailed personal interview followed by comprehensive assessments of your biomechanics, range of motion/flexibility in key cycling muscle groups, core stability and alignment/cant needs. Your session will finish with a dynamic Size Cycle session using computerized motion capture with spin and technique analysis. You will receive a detailed and easy to understand digital workbook that documents your position. This workbook can be used to set-up any bike and also includes a before and after video comparison of your riding position and technique. Click here to read and see more about this fit.

2-3 hours. $275.*

$100 of this service may be credited towards the purchase of a new bike at anytime. You may order the additional information and materials from our New Bike Fit for $100 at anytime in the future.

New Bike Fit:

The best first step if you are considering a new bike. The New Bike Fit includes all that is listed in the Existing Bike Fit as well as a computer based frame/bike search and individualized product consultation that eliminates any guesswork in selecting a properly fit new bike. You will receive the information you need to choose a properly fit bike (stock or custom) and have it set-up to your position. During the consultation, you will also receive detailed information on how different models that are recommended and/or you are considering compare in terms of the many important variables beyond fit (handling, durability, ride quality...). Click here to read and see more about this fit.

2.5-4 hours. $375 w/out bike purchase. Only $175 with bike purchase.*

$200 of this fit may be credited towards the purchase of a new bike at anytime.

Custom frame design template and CAD drawing is available with any bike purchase at no charge and is available for an additional fee with this fitting without bike purchase. Please inquire.

Performance Analysis Fitting (VT Location Only):

Designed for the athlete who wants to optimize performance and efficiency; this is our most complete fit. Performance Analysis includes all that is in the Existing Bike Fit and then goes further to use computer technology to optimize your position. We use a proprietary system to analyze oxygen transfer, power output, spin and aerodynamics in detail. The average speed increase gained is greater than what a pair of aero wheels offers at about 1/3 the price. Digital Aerodynamics Analysis adds computer frontal surface area analysis to polish your aerodynamics and build the optimal position for a targeted event(s). Click the link above for more information on this fit.

Performance Analysis: 3-4 hours. $450. Up to $100 of this service may be credited towards the purchase of a new bike at anytime. You may order the additional information and materials from our New Bike Fit for $100 at anytime.*

Digital Aerodynamics Analysis: 1-2 hours. $350.*

Wind Tunnel Fit:

Fit Werx is proud to be the first company in the Northeast to offer cycling specific wind tunnel fitting sessions at the M.I.T. Center for Sports Innovation wind tunnel.

Once the rest of your position has been established and optimized, the wind tunnel is the ultimate finishing tool for Time Trialists and triathletes. Over 65% of your energy is used to overcome the wind resistance from your body and your equipment. We have worked in conjunction with Dr. Kim Blair of the M.I.T. Center for Sports Innovation to develop a consistent wind tunnel testing protocol to help you minimize aerodynamic drag without compromising power or spin efficiency.

Wind tunnel fittings require one of our standard fitting sessions first and then a visit to the M.I.T. wind tunnel in Boston, MA during a session date. Tunnel time is preset by reservation a few times a year, so plan well in advance. Availability is limited, contact us for pricing, dates and more information.
